im on my first cycle of clomid 50mg after having loads of annovulatory cycles.
ive heard that doctors only typically prescribe it for about 6 months. i dont mean to sound negative on my first cycle but im so used to not O'ing i just dont want to get my hopes up and wondered what would happen if i still dont have any success. some normal couples with no problems take a few months to conceive and if im only given 6 months help to O then i dont know what the next step would be.
im sure annovulation is my only problem, as i never have a thermal shift when i temp and my day 21 progesterone has always showed no O.
i was on ssri anti depressants for years and im convinced they have caused this problem as they contain prolactin and i think it may have raised my prolactin levels which can interfere with O.
im so happy to be given the chance to try clomid and i really hope it works for me and im lucky but ive heard stories from people who havent been successful on it and i feel this is my only chance to O
