I think you just claim from your insurers who then claim from the Motor Insurers Bureau.

It depends what type of policy you have yourself, if you are fully comp you can claim on your own insurance usually, but it will cost you as your premium will go up. If you only have third party insurance you will have to claim through some organisation that has a fund set up for people hit by uninsured drivers. Depending on the value of the claim it often isn't worth it

I think you go through your own insurer, some policies have special coverage for uninsured drivers, but most will push you premiums up and you will be responsible for the excess.
