I dont even know if i heard them right but someone said to me they had a dry birth and i didnt have a clue what that was :( lol i didnt want to act as if i had no clue about anything so it just kind of went oh cool.

What is it? or have i picked them up wrong? they were acting as if it was something unusual.

The only time Ive heard something similar is in relation to a water birth - the person laboured in the pool & gave birth on dry land?

But I actually have no idea :/ xx

Apperently its when your waters break but you dont go into labour.. so by the time you do give birth its known as a "dry birth" I think they keep you in hospital if this happens though because of risk of infection but apperently your body keeps producing amniotic fluid so its not actually dry? xx

Is it where the waters break quite a while (a few days) before the baby is born hence the 'dry' birth?

dry births dont really exsist. as long as the baby is inside, you make amniotic fluid and besides, amniotic fluid isnt a lubricant anyway

a dry birth is where there has been more than 24-48 hours after your waters have broken, even tho ur body still produces amniotic fluid it is very little, and the baby is still at risk to infection, also some women notice a harder labour, ie more tearing if they have a dry birth

^ its a cup an hour.. thats quite a lot! The infection risk comes in cos theres a direct route to your baby from your vagina as your baby doesnt have a complete 'bubble' around them (the sac), nothing to do with the actual fluid i dont think.

it just where the water dont break i think it was i got told i had a dry birth and my baby came out still in her water bag they had to rip it to get her so i think thats it x

^ thats amazing that your Lo came out in their sac still. My cat has kittens and 2 of them were still in their sacs :)

I'd love to let my cats have kittens :(

Anyway Blah11, weirdly we've been pregnant at the same time twice  Your daughter is a couple of months older than mine and my son will be a couple of months older than your LO. I wonder if you'll have a boy too! x

A 'dry birth' sounds painful!!!! Its meant to be very good luck isn't it if the baby comes out in the sack.
