Ive suffered really bad spots since i got pregnant, and have left myself with a few scars from picking  and still have loads on my face, all around my mouth and cheeks  ive never suffered with spots before except my first pregnancy but they were on my neck and shoulders so could hide them easier! They are really getting me down so want to get a really decent foundation! Im using the maybelline? 24 hr one thats around £10.00 but it doesnt last longer then about 2 hours!!! Any recommendations are greatly appreciated! Thankyou :flower:

kerri i know you an book a app in places like boots or house of fraser ect and they can try different ones on you and you can see whats best hun might be worth doing.
Try and not get down about it though hun as im sure you look lovely! x

I've always had naturally 'oily' skin which can get quite spotty...especially when I'm pregnant. I've tried a lot of different foundations & I've found the best a natural mineral powder foundation. Everytime I've gone for a liquid foundation that offers more coverage it's just made it even worse!

Have you tried a moisturiser with foundation? ... I use olay 7 signs with foundation. It gives me a great base to put cover-up on and makes it last 10 times longer!

Ooh thankyou, it must be combo as neither oliy or dry, and not sensitive either!

I always recommend Estee Lauder's Double Wear Foundation. Great coverage and it really does last 12 hours (at least) - I've tried loads of different brands and this is the best stuff by far! A bit pricey at £24 but worth paying a bit extra for. They'll put some on for you and match your colour at Boots, Debenhams etc....

You probably want medium coverage right? You said you have some scars so a tinted moisturiser won't help you much. Invest in a good liquid foundation and a brush. You may find using a brush fiddly to start with if you haven't used one before but you'll get faster and faster with it, trust me! MAC select liquid foundation, Bobbi Brown natural finish foundation or Giorgio Armani luminous silk foundation I think are the best on the market and last ages as you only need a little at a time, and with a foundation brush a little goes a very long way. They are a little more on the expensive side but you'll probably end up spending less or at least the same than when buying cheaper foundations that don't last as long on the face so have to reapply, and because you have to use more of the product to get the finish you want xx

Estee Lauders products are also good although I personally haven't used them much xx

I agree with the makeup artist - can't remember her name sorry!!

My skin is horrific since pregnant. I find the more that I put on it the worse and more aggravated my spots get. I exfoliate only when I absolutely have to because that makes my skin produce more oil otherwise. I use makeup removal wipes and an oil free toner. (Brands like Neutrogena, Clean & Clear etc are cheap and really effective for problematic skin.) In the day time I use an oil free moisturiser as otherwise my skin turns into a spotty oil slick.

I use a foundation brush which I spot clean after every use for application of my foundation and also give it a deep clean once a week (to keep my germ hands off my face) and then I'm using Dior Skin Nude foundation which is BRILLIANT - great coverage, really smooth feeling on my skin and doesn't seem to aggravate my skin. I don't think it's oil free, but my oil slick 'sweat' look doesn't show through.

However I'm sparing in the application around my spotty areas and tend to play up my eyes with a bright water line colour, or some nice flicked liquid liner to detract from the mess that is that is my cheeks and chin!!!!!! I steer clear of lippy too as I don't want people's eyes drawn to the lower half of my face!!!

I know neutrogena used to do an actual foundation for acne skin, it had really good long lasting coverage.I spent £10 on it in boots a few years back but it was in skin care isle not beauty make up isle x
