What is THIS at day 4 of my cycle?!

Any ideas? I know it's not quite positive, but it looks well on it's way to being!? I did it yesterday.... On day 4 of my cycle. I usually get much fainter results than this up until I ovulate! Confused!

What do you guys think?

ETA: Second one I just did today...do you think it looks fainter? It is a little darker in person, but difficult to compare yesterday's test as that has already faded too much...

hmmm.. has your AF completely finished?.. maybe you are having a very early ovulation.. is that even possible?.. maybe it is?... let us know how you go hun.. im sorry i can't help much

Thanks for the reply. No AF hasn't completely finished.... I came off the pill at the end of August though, so is it possible my body could be ovulating this soon after AF starting?

I'll keep doing the tests and see what happens... I'm going to be disappointed if this is my ovulation for the month... Disappointed and confused. And maybe a little worried.. =/

hi, just wanted to say yes you can O but very early but i dont know if it can be that early if your still on your period. i've heard of girls getting pregnant on there period because they had an extra egg that was still hanging around. but im not to sure if you can have both going on...

Hi ya,

We all have different levels of LH in our systems at different times. As they are not + I would try not to pay too much attention.

I got quite a darkish but - result while on AF, but to be honest dont know why i POAS at that time anyway! Just an addiction I guess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I KNOW my usual colour though when it's completely negative, it's a LOT lighter than this... Unless it can vary from cycle to cycle that much!? Blah, we had some unprotected sex anyway, so it doesn't matter too much...if we've caught eggy, then woop! If we haven't, then we'll just keep trying.

i do opk's from time to time just to see if i do actually O because i dont know if i do but im to the point now where im ntnp eventhough i want to actually try and hit the right days i dont know if i have the right days so we just BD when ever so would that be considered trying or ntnp?

Do they? I can't find any info on that on google, just the LH surge mid-cycle for ovulation... Why would LH need to surge during your period? If people get an LH surge during their period, they'd be ovulating, surely? An LH surge stimulates the body to release an egg...

I just came off the pill so I'm doing the odd test here and there to get some idea of what's going on with my body - if I'm ovulating again etc. NTNP is basically TTC to us, just very casually..that's basically what we're doing "what happens happens" as it were, not "I'm ovulating!! Let's have sex!!".. .Is it important?

ETA: Just attached a chart from Wiki about menstrual cycle hormones (thank God because I was trying desperately to remember all the names/what they did when's that I learnt in GCSE Science!!! )... There seems to be a tiny little bump at around day 6 (which would be around the end of menstruation) which I'm curious about...but looking at the darkness of my tests and the height of the LH surge for ovulation...I wouldn't have said that tiny bump at day 6 would make a test show up that dark?

It does for me, I often seem to get a dark OPK somwhere around day 5-7!

How did you get on, did you ov early or was it just a mini surge? xx

They both look negative to me hun. I get lines like that all month. It's only when they are as dark as the test line (or darker)that you have a surge.

Do you know what sensitivity your tests are? I was using 20 but had to switch to 40, as my base LH is higher than 20 and all of mine were positive!

Thanks! I don't think the tests got dark enough to be positive tbh, so maybe it was a mini-surge! You learn something new every day!!

I'm not sure what sensitivity they are, I'll have to check! I'm new to all this TTC malarky so it hadn't even occurred to me that the OPKs come in different sensitivities too!! Usually I have very faint lines though, so maybe I just had an abnormally high amount of LH at that point without ovulating? Meh, it's not too important, I'm gonna test for the next few days to see if I get any positive results and next cycle I have a basal thermometer fertility machine!! Could very well tip into full on TTC soon! But that's not a bad thing!
