What is this feeling? O.o

In the past week and half, I've felt this twice - a very distinct, twist/jab almost like a bone popping. I felt this below my belly button (about an inch below) to the right side (both times). I'm assuming it's coming from my uterus, but there should be no bones to pop in that area. It freaks me out!

I remember that happening to me! I don't recall what it was, other than that it was safe and normal... I hope someone else can chime in with more info!

I had this with my last pregnancy and just yesterday with this one! It was so strong that I jumped while sitting on the sofa. My dh thought baby had kicked me but it was too high (above my belly button) and baby isn't strong enough yet to feel that kind of force. I hope someone can tell us what it is. If not I will ask my doctor when I see him next week.

Thanks for the replies ladies. I'm glad to know I'm not alone in experiencing this strange feeling. It is not painful, but it freaks me out. I ended up squeaking and jumping ever so slightly both times and had to go check the heartbeat to make sure baby is fine.
