as a child what year stood out for you.. what did you get that made you remember..

my best xmas memory was the year we went to a xmas panto on xmas eve.. came home and we could hear santa coming (my dad was ringing xmas bells from the kitchen while my mom said it was santa coming ) hehe and that night we woke my parents at 5 am ish :haha: i remember that was the year i got my first bike... i think i was 5-6

so.. whats everyones best memories? :flower:

Christmas when I was about 7..we were visiting my parents friends in another town on Christmas eve and a sudden snow storm rolled in. My dad drove through this awful storm comforting me that there was going to be no way Santa was going to pass our house because I wasn't in bed yet.
He was my hero and everytime we get a white Christmas..I remember that day:cloud9:

My earliest Christmas memory is recieving ballet shoes from Father Christmas and being just so excited.

I remember standing outside my grandmother's house looking up in to the stars for father Christmas.

I remember my brother recieving a Fisher Price Garage. I am not even sure why that is an important memory but I remember it really strongly.

I remember recieving a Barbie tent (as in a tent for a Barbie doll not a child size tent with Barbie pictures on). My mother had set it up upstairs because it had about ten million little accessories and she didn't want anything getting lost. I was so excited I didn't want to come down and see the rest of my gifts.

I remember camping out in my brother's room for the night as my grandmother stayed over in mine and we all kept waking each other up and asking if Father Christmas had been yet.

When we were a lot older (early teenage) I remember my mum ringing bells to pretending to be Father Christmas even though we were too old for it and my youngest brother chasing her round the house to prove it was her with the bells.

I remember the year I had Chicken poxs and I got to lie in the good room, away from all the rest of the kids, I felt so privilaged !!!! lol The Christmas tree was in the good room and the only time we got to go into the good room was Christmas day, but because I was ill I got to lie in there the week before Christmas and I loved just lying looking at the twinkling lights. Its actually really sad to think about now, I was so ill but so happy because I got to see the Christmas tree for more that 6hrs !!!! lol

My australian Christmases , every year a BBQ down at the beach , a blanket sprawled out on the grass bank that was right next to the sand , clear blue skies , sunny hot rays , cold salads , prawns/steaks/pork/chicken cooking on the BBQ .. god perfect!

I did it all again in 2005 .. was exactly how i rememberd it , however i was able to have ice cold beer , have some music on and just chill.

Miss it terribly , christmas seems so different in the UK then it is in Australia , Its all money money money here, guess because most of the time children stay in the houses when its cold which is half of the bloody year so all they have is toys to occupy them! Whereas in Australia we never really had toys as we were always outdoors.... ugh Sorry went into bit of a rant there

Totally want my old life back xx

I remember being about 8 and me and my sis going all through the house and putting the clocks forward to about 8am even though it was only 5 and then going to get my mum and dad up and my dad looking at his watch and just laughing at us.

And another thing ill always remember is being about 12 and begging for a certain phone and id opened all my presents bar one but it was a big box so i was quite upset but as i opened this box and there was another empty box inside and i had to go through about 5 boxs and in that final box was the phone, i was so happy

I remember one year when I was about 10.. My little sister was six. Mum's house is a bungalow and our room looked onto the garden. We heard some laughing outside, so we looked out the window and saw my grandad riding a little bike around the garden   My grandad is six foot at least, and he was riding a bike made for a six year old. It was absolutely hilarious and I remember it really fondly even now. It makes me so sad because my Grandad's health has taken a turn for the worse the last few years and we'll never see him do things like that again. :(

Also, my sister was afraid of santa when she was little, so every year we slept in the same bed (a single bed at that) to make sure she was safe.

See I love UK xmas, I love the cold weather!

I remember in 1992 when i was 10 and i begged my Mum for a Super Nintendo and Yoshi.

She said she couldnt get me it cos it was so expensive, back them they were a fortune.

Anyway i got loads of other stuff and i wasnt bothered and my Mum asked me to get a black bag out of the dining room for the wrapping paper and on the dining room table was a Super Nintendo with a Santa hat on top of the box :cloud9:

I was so happy i burst into tears.

I remember bring at my gran's house for christmas one year, i must have been about 4 because my little brother and sister got those little bikes you move by pushing your feet. I took all the diary milk chocolates and bournville chocolates from the roses box and put them in a ring around the tree for santa. I knew he'd like those ones because they were my favourites.
I remember finally being old enough for midnight mass and it was always so beautiful with the choir and all lit up with candles

Christmas 1999, I was 10. My auntie and Uncle owned a pub so that year we spent Christmas day there, pub was closed until 8pm that night so we put all the tables together as one long table and all sat down to eat together. My dad and his brothers and sisters (6 of them in total) had all contributed to the meal and it was great! I loved being there with my nana, Grandad and all my cousins and everyone.
I think this is what has made me want a huge family though..the memory of all sitting down eating, laughing and enjoying each others company

i remember my grandma coming around with a huge bag for me and i thought there was a real person inside it, it was a huge china doll (i collected them) and i was so happy when i saw it

i also remember being about 3 and getting a thomas the tank train set and my mum making a little christmas dinner table out of a toybox for me and my foster brother and i remember eating the prawn cocktail,

and i remember from the same christmas me and my foster brother fighting over a teatowel cus we wanted it on our head so we could be Mary

another christmas
i remember getting a life size barbie doll that i loved so much and also a play kitchen!

so many nice memories i hope i give jesse just as good ones!

I remember the year my brother i got a nintendo N64 and a sodastream

i remember the year my grandma gave my brother loads of clothes and he went "not moooore clothes" and rolled his eyes. in front of everyone :haha:

lol awwww i love all these stories :cloud9: they are so nice...

i also remember one year asking for this tv combo thing.. like dvd and tv in one and my dad said it was too expensive so i didnt mind because just xmas was great without big presents..

so we opened all our presents, and my parents thought it would be funny to wrap up a cheap dvd player from a supermarket i worked at that year seeing as i was complaining about how i had to stack them up

anyway day went on and my dad told my mom he had to go out for something at work as we didnt have a tray big enuogh for the turkey which i knew was a lie as they did..

my mom made me stay in the kitchen with her untill my dad got back and called me upstairs.. there was a huge box with the tv inside!! and it was even better than the one i had asked for.. that was a good 5-6 years ago and i still have the tv.. good memories.. :cloud9:

i hope my children (hopefully some day) will have nice memories like these...

hehe i remember when i was about 6 it snowed which didnt really happen much in ireland.. it was really good thick snow and me and my brother who was about 8 making snow angels :D
