ok so this will be my bubbas first christmas hes due 22nd nov so he will be about a month old, i dont have a clue on what i can get him to be honest!

and your opinions.. is a stocking really worth it this year ? x

You don't need to do a stocking, but it's a nice tradition. Chase was 4 months old at his first Christmas. I filled it with rattles, socks, bibs, fork and spoon set for later, and stuff like that.

Kacie was almost 2 months old last christmas, I got toys suitable for when she was abit older and clothes mainly

DS was almost 6 months at his first Chrsitmas so I got things in advance for when he was a bit older, and for the stocking just got a few rattles, christmas bibs, photo frame memory keepsake etc.

I wasn't going to bother this year as my little boy is not due until 30th November and I have spent soooo much money on him already but my family have been going on about what they have bought etc etc and made me feel really mean!!!

I've got a swing and things that I could probably do without for the first few weeks and am just going to wrap them up and put them under the tree, maybe a pack of Christmas sleepsuits/vests etc that he can wear Christmas week and a little fancy dress outfit

I think though I'll go all out next year and see that as his first "proper" Christmas with the good presents, lol

ooo i think ill just be getting him something to wear on christmas day like a christmas pudding outfit or rudolph lol..hes due november 5th so wont be very old at all..maybe something with babies 1st christmas written on it...tbh hes had enough already and hes not even born yet =)

I think getting a stocking is worth it, I've had mine since my first christmas and used the same one ever since, it's nice to see it in all the pictures from christmas every year

If you get a stocking I would just get a plain one and not one with babies first christmas because they wont use it again.
My girls were 11 months old at Xmas so they did get some toys but for your baby I wouldnt really buy much to be honest. Put some money into an account for him

My LO is Due November 13th so will be about 6 weeks old at Christmas, I plan on getting my LO a bracelet with his/her name on and just maybe some clothes and a few things i will need for the future (like toys and spoons, bibs, rattle)

I know my family and my OH and his family will buy the baby lots of toys and clothes also so i don't really need to buy my baby too much so i think i'll just stick with the bracelet and let everyone else get the baby's toys and clothes lol so i wouldn't think a stocking is really needed as my LO wont be able to take the gifts out by it's self any ways

I'm going to get my LO a stocking (he's due Novewmber 18th) and fill it with little bits, as previously said, like rattles and clothes.

Getting the dog a stocking too, so would feel a bit mean not to get bubs one! :P

Ive got a lil baby boy due Nov 24th and Ive decided that me and OH will have a budget of £50 each to get baby some xmas things but we are not allowed to show eachother what we have bought baby, we will just wrap them up and put them under the tree, then Xmas day I can open what he has bought for baby and OH will open what I bought for baby :)

I thought it would be a nice idea because it means baby isnt left out and I dont see the point in OH and I choosing things together then wrapping them and unwrapping them again when we know what they are so I thought my idea was quite a good one, the chances of us going for the same things are slim too and even if we did thats what receipts are for :) xxx

I'm due 25th Nov so going to get baby a few toys for when shes a little older, probably a few clothes and as a keepsake getting her 'My first Christmas snowglobe' from Harrods xx

Haha I think it's a great idea - might have to steal it, if you don't mind?
Must admit, I'll be putting carrots & mince pies out for santa though. Just because bubs won't be old enough to understand, doesn't mean I can't pretend haha.

my eldest was 6weeks old at xmas. we got him his bouncy chair as his gift and i did him a stocking which contained bottles and teats, dummys, toothbrush, rattles, soft toy, socks, etc

We bought a first christmas stocking and little keepsakes... tbh my family bought him more than we did. x

I would do a stocking. Make the stocking part of the present. We bought our kids a very nice stocking for their first Christmases...and they are so special now. You can fill it with whatever...I am sure you will find little things. This is probably all we are doing for Kelana as she will only be 4mths old.
