What to Expect at Fertility Consult Today?

Good Morning!

I have a fertility consultation today with an new OB/GYN. I'm 36 and trying to conceive #4 with my fiance. I was told earlier this year that I have an ovarian mass. One doctor said I have multiple large fibroids taking up 2/3 of my uterus and swelling it to the size of a 2.5 month pregnant woman. She said if I was finished having kids, I should have a hysterectomy. I had a pre-op consult with a different doctor who said my fibroids were tiny but I have a cyst on my ovary.

I've left that practice (for multiple reasons) and am having a fertility consultation with a new doctor. What can I expect? What is the first thing they do? Testing? Will they start me on something this cycle? Anyone have any insight?

I am not sure about what the case will be for your fibroids, however I can tell you what my intake apt was like last week. We discussed all my previous test results, ordered the outstanding tests, did a translational ultrasound, and discussed next steps. Good luck!

Thanks! She ended up talking to me about my concerns, doing an exam, and telling me just to be patient. My cervix and uterus look perfect, no swelling, she couldn't feel any large fibroids, and the cyst was likely follicular. If nothing happens in eight months, come back.

I just wanted to be sure because one doctor told me I had all this stuff wrong with me. Now I am and I feel so much better!
