Hey ladies...

I've actually gone and booked an appointment to discuss possible fertility problems with a doctor.

The receptionist was so lovely and actually told me the doctor who specialises in fertility problems and has booked me in with him. I've seen him once before and he's so lovely so I'm quite releaved on that count. He's so popular I cant get in until 10th December. I did want my OH to come with me but it's difficult fitting around his shifts.

What can I expect from my first initial doctors app?

Will I have any bloods taken or do you have bloods done at certain times in your cycle?

Is it worth jotting down my AF dates for the last year and are doctors bothered with any CBFM readings (PEAK days etc)??

I've only just started charting so I'll have at least one month to show him.

Sorry for all the questions....I guess I'll find out once I go but just a bit apprehensive.

Thanks for reading...

Hi

I don't know the answer sorry but would be interested to know this too as plan to visit docs in new year x

Hi Hun

ia the doc a reg doctor but knows about fertility or is he a fs? My first appointment at my regular doctor did bloods on cd3 and cd21 to check if I was ovulating.

That came back grand so I was then referred to a fs on my first appointment they took more blood did an internal scan, am awaiting df sa and then will go from there.

Hope that helps? Good luck x

Hi

They will proberly ask you how long your cycles are normally, when your last period was and how long you have been trying. They ask about your periods to, how long, if they are regular and if they are painfull and things.

You have to have your bloods done normally between cd2-4 and cd21 (or 7 days past ov if you dont have 28 day cycles). He will proberly arange for OH to do SA as well.

My GP asked if i had used anything to track ov like opk or CBFM and if they indicated that I ov.

Hope this helps, good luck

Ps he was only interested in my last af date and didn't take any other dates. Although I did take all the info so would advise you have it to hand just in case he asks.

Thanks for the quick responses ladies...really, really do appreciate it. I dont know what I'd do without this forum.

The doctor is a normal GP who knows his stuff on fertility problems etc. I'm so releaved to be seeing him.

I'll keep you all updated.......
