Well this week has been very emotional, dh has very low sperm count (which he needs to get retested next week) and has finally agreed to taking vitamins everyday (instead of the 1 tablet he has take over the last 12 months) (plus I had bad news to).

So...........what vitamins does your dh take?

Its easy for a woman, I take Pregnacare and know everything I need is in there, is there one for a bloke, does your dh take 1 tablet or a mixture?

Hi ald, sorry to hear you've had a tough week. :hugs:

My DH doesn't take anything specifically ttc-based. He just doses himself up on vit c & zinc to keep healthy. I don't have to nag him about it...he's quite obsessive about not getting ill as he runs a lot and needs to be fit.

Have heard that maca is good as general fertility-boosting supplement (for both men and women). Have just ordered some online, but I expect I'll be the only one taking them!

I'm afraid that I don't have any more advice. Hope the other girlies are a bit more help!

Good luck :hugs:

My DH just takes a multi vitamin to help with anything he's lacking. But he's very fit, he runs daily and goes to the gym to keep in shape, which I think helps too.

Lots of luck

None yet, although i'm going to try and encourage him to take some-I went absoloutly nuts at him when we first started trying, as i found out he had been taking muscle building supplements,...and...'duh', what did it say on the label???' may temporarily reduce fertility'.......didn't seem to do his swimmers any harm in the end though thank god, and although his test came back normal, as an unexplained, i want to cover all areas as i have heard that it's not uncommon for subsequesnt SAs' to come back with conflicting results in comparison to previously good ones,so, might just grab a jar of multi Vs next time i'm at boots.

Sorry u had a rough week!

I make my DH take one multi-vitamin (Sanatogen - his) and Co enzyme Q10, supposed to make good quality spermies... lol

I have been taking Multi-vitamins along with 10mg of L-arginine..... which really increased my CM and its supposed to improve the quality of egg

Hope this helps.

CHeers,

Keerthy

Thank you ladies for your answers, my dh is very fit as he is in the military and does mandatory fitness several times a week (army style lol) so I think I will just get him a good multi-vit with good levels of zinc in.

I was looking maca up on-line and think I may give that ago, but I am always worried about giving herbal tablets etc to dh as he undergos regular drug testing at work and I worry about what is really in some of these tablets - do you think I am worring to much and they would be fine for him to take and still pass a drugs test?

Sorry hun mine takes maca, zinc, folic acid and a high does vit c. Good luck. XXX

Maybe ask a herblist to be sure and then dont buy them online just buy them from the herbalist. XXX

Your man needs to increase his intake of vitamin c and zinc , He should also where loose fitting boxer shorts to keep those guys down there cool. It definately works it should increase his sperm count in weeks.

Good luck!:happydance:

When we hadn't had any success TTC DH was tested and the Dr said his sample was so poor (less than 1% were normal with motility/mobility - even these weren't great) we had no chance of conceiving naturally and would have to have assistance. She recommended that he take Vit B Cenrium (?) but I did my own research online and found a whole list of common vits that are supposed to help improve sperm count. I wrote the list down along with the suggested dosage and took it to the pharmacist. On the bottom shelf she found a 'super-duper' high concentration multi vit that contained everything we needed (1 tab daily) - we only needed an additional Vit C tablet. She said it was safe for him to take them and so he did. 4 weeks later we were ready for our first IUI and he duly gave his sample as instructed. The Dr said not to get our hopes up coz we really needed to use ICSI to stand a chance of getting pregnant. DH's sample was analysed in the lab and his sample had more than quadrupled - Dr couldn't believe it!!! DH was over the moon and the IUI worked first time!!!
Go online today and do a bit of research yourself - there's lots of info out there on reputable sites. I listed more than 10 vits that were supposed to help. You never know, you might just get lucky like we did. :)
Wishing you the very best of luck, xx

Bearsbaby, can you give me a list of those vitamins and doses? My husbands motility is 16% and I am willing to try anything after 2 failed IUIs.

Hi my man takes fertility blend for men although he has azoospermia so icsi / ivf is our only option I know other people in same boat and after takin in next ssr the boys were greater in number and healthier.

xx

Hiya

My DH also has low sperm count (1 million) and he takes wellman tablets every day - he also takes 2 x Maca as it may improvement count/motility. He takes 1000mg of effervescent vit c too as the GP recommended that. Since the the wellman contains the Zinc etc and all the other vits that the fertility books recommend he doesn't take anything else.

He has cut down on alcohol too - last test was September and he is due to do a test 1st week in Jan at the clinic read for the IVF! Fingers crossed it's all worked (otherwise he'll be back on the Stella )

Hey - what were the improvments like on fertility blend? I have just looked it up and it's quite pricey but wondering if it's worth it for the results?:hugs:

I'm afraid I can't find the list but if you google something like 'improving sperm count' etc, you'll get some good sites come up. It took a bit of looking but there was some helpful info out there - listings of all the beneficial vits.
I'll have a look now myself and if I find anything I'll post a link, x
