I started weaning last week my son is 6 months this week, started off in the first 2 days with baby rice after his 7 ish am milk then started adding fruit purée to it which he loved and then gave it him at tea time too.Anyway he feeds roughly every 4 hrs so a typical day is

7am bottle then rice/porridge
11am bottle
3pm bottle
7pm bottle

It's obviously too early to give him his tea with 3 pm feed so tonight I gave him bit of veg at 5pm with some water, does this seem ok to do?

I would recommend giving something new earlier in the day, so if they have any issues with it they would most likely experience it before sleep time at night. At least that is what I was told! :flower:

That all seems fine. Basically it's whatever works for you and him. There's no set rules. We started out with just lunch for about a month, then added in breakfast and eventually dinner by 8 months.

We did bottle at around 8am, then again at 11am, lunch at 12, bottle at 4pm, bottle at 7pm to start. Now she (@ 10 months) has bottle at around 8am, lunch at 12pm, bottle at 1 or 2pm, small bottle or snack at 4pm, dinner at 5:30, and last bottle at 7pm.

You'll find what works best for you once you do it for a bit. As long as he seems happy, that all sounds great.

Thanks ladies,I only started weaning son last week and health visitor said today can start on 3 meals now and drop to 3 bottles I actually wonder what is the rush
