Just wondering as I combo feed so have to combine info from BF/FF. Lucy a few days ago started taking 2-3 more oz per day of formula. I haven't changed anything so not sure if my supply is dropping, I'm getting AF or it's a growth spurt. Will the increase continue/stay if it is a growth spurt, or do they drop back down to the previous levels they were taking?

It was the frequency of my LO's feeds which went up when she was growth spurting, rather than the amount per bottle (does that make sense?). When the spurt ended, she went back to the number of bottles she had been taking throughout the day, though I seem to remember she upped the amount per bottle at that point

Hi bky,

I also had to combo feed due to very low supply while exclusively expressing b/c of LO's injury. During the spurts, I just gauged it from more frequent night feedings suddenly around the common days/weeks for spurts. I guess it's a lot harder for you to tell if you are using the breast so I would think after 3-4 days (possibly a week), LO will probably take a bit more than usual but not quite 2-3oz more.

I barely noticed growth spurts TBH once I was exclusively FF. There were a few times when he drained his bottles when he would normally leave an oz or so... I just put an extra oz in the next bottle. He would settle down within a few days and go back to what he was having before. X
