This is my first post in the ltttc section. I had my hsg today and they said all looks well. I am wondering what the next step is? I have a follow up next week to discuss my options, but would like more insight into what choices I have.
Background.
Gave up pills feb 2013
Started ttc March 2013
Used opks June 2013
Temps confirmed o since September 2013.
Had my physical and thyroid test in Feb 2014 all okay.
I had 21 day bloods last cycle they came back less then spectacular at progesterone level. 8.2, (weak ovulation) better then nothing I suppose.
Sorry for the essay, but appointments freak me out!

Did they check any other hormones? Next I'd talk about Hormone therapy to fix your levels. Your progesterone is low it should be closer to 15 on day 21. The low progesterone suggests a luteal phase defect. If they said ovulation was weak you probably have low estrogen too.

I have these issues and then some. I take progesterone peak plus 3 through 12. I haven't started estrogen yet but will likely start that in 2 cycles (we are playing the waiting game to get HSG done).

To regulate hormones I see a NaPro dr. I highly recommend looking for one.

Good luck!

Thanks. I missed getting three days done since I was gone for the weekend.
I see you live in Wisconsin too!

 Hey girly! Right after my first HSG (never got bloods done) I was told to just BD the next week away because my tubes had be 'cleared' out. I was fresh out of surgery though, so I waited 1.5 weeks.

My second HSG I got cleared to BD the very next day, but felt weird with all the dye and stuff coming out of me, so I waited a week as well since I wasn't due to O until then.

They say HSG's clear out our tubes of all the gunk-junk that has collected in them over the years and could stop the baby ball of cells from travelling through them.

:hugs:

Our gyno recommended eod for the rest of the cycle after today. So we shall see how that goes.
I was just curious what gets discussed at a follow up?

Have you had your partner checked?
I had an HSG and all was clear, no follow up given.
I have been ttc #2 since August 2012, tried all the things people say. Kinda given up now as we have IVF coming up in 7 months time.
Hubby has 1% normal morphology, low sperm count, and antibodies, so we're kinda wasting our time trying, plus he is addicted to sugar and sitting on his rump and in 18 months has made very little live changes and when my time is right he's not interested, too tired, cannot get going so even if I am functioning correctly, it wont make much of a difference. I will always be a mum of 1, even though I always wanted more. He's an only child, I am one of 4 kids.

Yep dh is fine, his sa came back all above normal results. As much as he fretted about getting it done, his numbers are good.

Did they check either of you for antibodies?

Oh boy ! Ok there is LH, LSH, AMH, progesterone, estrogen and antibodies, just to start

Ask to have a whole panel done on various days, and an ultrasound to confirm ovulation couldn't hurt. When things are unexplained there's good reason to hope for a good outcome. OPKs are helpful and more necessary than charting especially once ovulation has been confirmed, or when it's confirmed. There are medications you can take, not terribly expensive, to help with almost everything. Thats no guarantee but it's helpful !
