My lo was one yesterday :) so I've gradually stopped sterilising but can u put ordinary tap water in bottles then microwave it for 30 seconds then add formula?
Please don't jump down my throat of this is so a really bad idea as lo could get ill etc I'm just asking as this is my first lo :)
Ta x

Heya. I think its always best to use hot boiled water to make up bottles. Even on the 1year+ formulas the preparation instructions are the same as the first milks and follow-on milks etc. Also I would say that its probably best to continue sterilising bottles until your lo stops using formula. My kids had water from the tap for drinking from 6 months and I will stop sterilising my DD2's bowls and spoon when she reaches 1, but will continue sterilising bottles as there are some real nasty bugs that are potentially contained in formula powder. xxxx

Never unfortunately, the water needs to be 70 degrees or above to kill any bacteria in the formula.

As long as you use powdered formula of any kind (even the 1+ milks) then you should always boil the water I'm afraid as they can contain nasty bugs in the formula. If I were you I'd just switch to cows milk at 1, then you don't have to faff around with boiling water and formula anymore X

Ah lovely Thanku was just double checking and will carry on boiling still thank you :)
