when did you buy your dress?

Hi all...I get married in 1 year 8 months and I want to start planning etc...upto now we have:

Booked wedding reception venue
Booked church
Brought the organza for the favours

But when is it *suitable without anybody saying ohhh youve got so much time for that* to look at dress/try them on....im just tooooooooooooooooo excited!!!

go for it!!!!!!!! I started properly looking this year (i tried on a few last year and another few the year before!) and i found mine in May time (16 months before).

Just go try a few on to get a taste of things. Your bound to want to buy everything- but seriously take your time and dont rush into anything (I changed my mind and got another dress). Not only that, you can get a sense of what suits you!!!

I bought mine a before we decided to get married I bought mine in the August and once I bought it we started planning so I bought mine 1 year and 1 month before the wedding.

Theres no harm in going and trying dresses on, some people take ages to find 'the one' whereas others find it first time x

I bought mine 16weeks before, I did leave it the latest I possibly could.

If I wasn't trying to loose weight I would of done it as soon as we booked the wedding (yr in advance) or sooner if I had more time!

There is nothing wrong with looking around and seeing what styles you like

I only brought mine 3 weeks ago and I'm getting married in 3 and a half weeks but that's because I've had a gastric band and I can go 3 weeks not loosing weight and then have a week where I can't eat and end up loosing half astone! I tried it on last night and it's allready too big around the back but luckily my auntie is a seamstres so she is going to alter it two days before the wedding if need be, can't change too much in two days! Lol

If you are getting it from a normal bridal shop this shouldn't matter tho becuase you can choose and pay or it now then be fitted for it closer to the wedding so no harm looking now it could take you a while to find the perfect one! Bit like the groom! Hehe GL x

We're getting married a year yesterday 22nd july and i went to look at dresses wed and am going back saturday to probably buy one as i fell in love with three lol The way i look at it is that the dress has to be right so if i buy that now and its out of the way the other stuff can come later, i'm someone who needs it sorted don't like to leave it to chance.

i bought my dress oct 09 and we're gettin wed nov 2011! Love my dress tho and it took 8 months to be made!!

Its in the shop now waiting for my first proper fittings nxt yr! Love it and wouldn't change it for the world xx

awww, enjoy shopping around! Tried as many as u can on! They all look so different on to what they do on the hangers!

I ordered mine in early Nov 09 and it's still not arrived in the shop yet! It should be here early August! I can't wait!

good you start early to find "the one" lol... we're getting amrried in 1year 7months 24days now and your way ahead of us.... we're still working on budget etc.... working solo so its annoying me, you must be getting married about the same time as us???

i feel put off trying on dresses cause noone will come with me to the shops got 4 tickets to wedding sale fare and noone will come with me not even my so called friend, gonna see if my bridesmaid will but she's ,my cousin and only currently 17 so makes feel sooo young.
