With my DS we decided on his name when bump was about 27 wks, I thought we would change it but we stuck with it - I was going to do the 'wait and see what he looks like when he's born' but he just looked like our baby! His name really suits him now, and we love his name.

With my last pregnancy we choose a name from our list each week and called the bump it - to see if we really liked it.

This time round, we've tried our favs from our list for a few weeks, but I think we've finally settled on a name now - at only 17wks! (found out for sure she was a girl at the w/e - altho I was fairly certain she was a she!). Might be a middle name change, but for now - we really like her name. And its nice to refer to her name than it or bubbalina! lol! I like to be organised!

This time around, we won't be telling anyone tho - can't be dealing with the blank looks or responses! (We like unusual names, altho I don't think DS's name is that unusual!?)

So, have you/did you choose a name early or did you/are you waiting when LO is born?

Also when your LO was born did you think that they didn't suit the name you'd chosen and went with something completely different?

I changed my mind the day my son was born...! I had called him a few different names thru out my pregnancy but kept changing my mind. Then i was set on his name but my mom kept bugging me that she hated the name i had picked. Plus, like 2 days before my scheduled c-section i just all of a sudden started thinking this other name on my list felt "more right..." And my mom was like "Yaayy, switch it switch it!!" We named him Jayden Christopher -- and love it!

1: Decided on her name and stuck with it from 20 weeks. Shani-Rose

2: Decided on her name and changed my mind when she was born, she was nameless for a week :dohh:. She was going to be Taylor but ended up being a Sofia.

3: We decided on a boy and girl name and stuck to them from early on. Franklin and Evie.

4: We had a few names to choose from but we didnt decide on one until he was born, then DH chose his name from the list we had. List was John, Sonny and Joseph. DH chose Sonny.

5: We knew her name as soon as we found out she was a girl (15 weeks), we did change our mind on her middle name though. She was going to be Evie May, but ended up being Evie Grace.

6: We couldnt decide, went through numerous names and eventually had a choice of two when she was born and chose from those. Daisy or Lola. Eventually ended up with Daisy Madeleine May (middle names after both of my nans).

With my first three kids we stayed on team yellow and I had one boy ,one girl name picked out by about third tri for each

Loren Rose of Conor Andrew -girl so Loren
Conor Andrew or Georgia Megan - boy so Conor
Ben Matthew or Freya Lilly - boy, Ben

Each one, when they were born jut looked like the name we'd picked too
this one - we know is a boy and cant seem to decide on a name lol - think it may be because we know the gender this time tbh. Por wee baby i sognna be nameless haha

xx

Basically on the car ride home after our 21 week scan. We'd thought bean was a girl so only had a girl name picked. Then in the car on the way home me and hubby brainstormed the extremely short list of boys names we actually like and thankfully both adored the same one. So he's very definitely that name now! x

We usually start brainstorming right away once we learn we're pregnant :) Then we might go back and forth but usually by the time we figure the gender out, we have a name that we both love and have the "this is it" factor for both of us. When they're born, they always immediately fit to their name..weird but true..we start to call them on their names after the 20 u/s and we get used to it by the time they're born.

Were on tem yellow! we found it really hard to come up with names at 1st and all of a sudden my oh come up with both names and i love them!:happydance: we havent told family or friends as it will be a nice suprise for everyone! hopefully once bump is here we will keep with them and not change them as alot of people have told me not to choose names as thay may not suit the baby!x

We settled on a couple of names for our 1st around 15 weeks. When we went to the scan at 20 weeks and found out we were having a girl we both looked at the screen, then at each other and decided there and then she was an Amy. We announced the name to everyone when we came home.

When she was first born she definately looked like an Amy to us and she still does :D

we thought i was pregnant before i was (a horrible false positive on a pregnancy test!) & so decided on a name then. so she had a name before she even existed! if we were having a boy, we'd decided on a name by about 15 weeks.
things might still change though.
xx

We chose Lucas after 20 week scan then changed it numerous times before deciding to leave it until he was born to chose between Lucas and Xavier. the day after he was born we finally decided on Lucas Thomas :)

we had no name for both our girls by the time they were born....Maley was named at 3 weeks and Remi was named at 3 too.....on the day she was due to be registered!!

We had Constance and Evaline picked for a girl and Jacob for a boy. We didn't actually name her until two days after she was born and called her Eloise!

we've decided on a blue and a pink name already :D

i decided on the boys name jayden after finding out i was having a boy at my 21 week scan..only to find out at 31 weeks im actually having a girl(from babybond lol) so now im stil undecided!x

We took ages to pick Bradys name. Like literally couldn't agree on anything. Our styles are so different so I had to compromise a little. I think I was about 37 weeks when we decided and even then it wasn't totally set in stone. He does suit Brady though, I couldn't imagine him as anything else.

Jacobs name was picked out from TTC, I couldn't be bothered to have any more arguments by the time I got pregnant so we just went with it. I love his name but hate how popular it is. Again though, he totally suits it, and is definitely a Jacob

With my daughter Harmony, we originally chose Lily but when she was born she looked more like a Harmony.

With this one, we haven't really come to a decision yet. We keep deciding on names that we will "definitely" use, then bore of them after a few weeks.

My Mum wanted to call her daughter "Emma Kate" from when she was a child, and I likewise had a name I knew I would use from being about 10/11. It hasn't changed.

But boys name I've just got straight on now :-) and because I don't have to compromise with anyone, I know I can have my way! XD

I'm planning to stay on team :yellow: though so will keep calling the baby Ixxy until he or she is born!

right from finding out we knew what our fav names were and our top boys and girls....as soon as we found out our babys gender at 18weeks, that was it. Isaac he was ;)

Nicola xx

We had a list of names but didn't decide what he was going to be until about 3 hours after he was born :)
