If you did use a baby bath for your LO at what age were they when you stopped using it?

Did you just put them in the normal bath once the baby bath was gone?

I would like to start bathing LO in the normal bath but i feel a bit scared lol. OH still has to help me bath LO in his baby bath cos i find it hard to wash him and hold him at the same time? Plus he slides all over the place, but i think in the bath it might be better/easier cos i could get a rubber mat to put down to stop him slipping?

We stopped a few weeks back so at 4 months roughly.

One of my boys is so fidgetty he was flooding the place with his splashes whilst in the baby bath.

I still hold them but it just means there's more splash space and no faffing about afterwards with emptying the baby bath and mopping up.

I used it till my DD was 11 months but thats because we only had a shower cubicle with LO ive tried baby bath and big bath and find big bath works better although it takes loads more water :-/

We got rid of the baby bath a few weeks ago when it got too small. It's so much easier without it, wish we'd done it sooner! LO has loads more fun lying down and splashing about, and I can wash her by myself. We use the tommee tippee heat sensitive bath mat.

Thanks for the link. I think i'm gonna just go for it this week with LO and use the BIG BATH lol, ooh wish me luck. Is it ok to lay them flat in the bath?

4months. we tried a eat she hated it so now i run lil bath and she squirms about on her tummy :)

I usually take her in the tub or shower with me, but when she needs washing and I don't feel like having a bath or shower then I use the baby bath
We have really deep tubs in our house which sucks cuz its almost impossibly to bath her in the big tub at this age by herself
She'll probably be using her baby bath or the kitchen sink for a while

We still use the baby bath, but now he sits in it. Our tub takes forever to fill!

We still use the baby bath bc she has only just begun sitting on her own. Last week it was superhot, so I gave her a couple cool daytime baths in her tub, placed in the big tub. She was wary. So we're working up to the big tub!

he just comes in with me or OH always has...so much easier.

We've always bathed him in the big bath. I do let him lie flat sometimes so he can have a good splash. He loves it, although his splashes have got a lot bigger and we both end up soaked!

We still use it and don't plan to stop for a while. We have an IKEA baby bath which is quite big and sit it inside the big bath to catch splashes! We are on a water meter and she seems happy sitting in baby bath still.

I only used my baby bath for a couple of months, max before putting her into the big bath. She grew out of it.

She goes for a bath with her daddy 2 or 3 times a week, but the rest of the week she goes swimming in a nice deep bath and absolutely loves it. Ive also got a little bath seat for her that she sits in to play with her bath toys and generally splash about. Makes it so much easier to wash her xxx

I think we stopped using the baby bath at around 4 months, she now either comes in the bath with me or she's got a baby seat which she loves as it gives her a sense of freedom to splash around, she also loves lying down flat and soaking me.

LO is 10 weeks and has outgrown her baby bath. Shes quite tall for her age. I find bathing her on my own really stressful in that bath so im glad to see the back of it tbh. I bought a reclining chair from boots today and managed a happy, stress free bath time doing it on my own without having to wait for weekends when OH is home to help me. I also bought a cuddle dry bath towel which is brilliant. It attaches round your neck and hangs down to your knees and i just picked her up out of the bath cuddled her to me and wrapped her round with the towel. Then was able to undo the bit round my neck and lie her down on the bed. Brilliant invention and made bath time soooo much easier and i can do it on my own now.

I've used a bath chair for Lilly since the very start! She's never had a baby bath tub.

I just started co bathing about a week ago, he's nearly 3 months. He LOVES it because when I'm right there with him I can put him deeper in the water and hold him while he kicks and splashes. He loves being as submerged as possible and I'm really only comfortable doing that while co-bathing. I still use the baby bath if I don't need one, and he likes it but nothing like the big bath! We also use the sink sometimes if there happens to be no dirty dishes in there. Doesn't happen often since LO was born...

:haha:

I moved DD from her Tippitoes bath into her Ikea bath at about 8 months and only now she is 12 months am I thinking of moving her into the big bath. She is trying to stand up all the time whether she's in the big bath or the small bath. I'm a nervous wreck but she loves her baths! She slips about and I have to have a constant hold on her. Little fidget bum!

We stopped at about 4/5 months. My LO loved to kick and splash and was getting far too big for the baby bath. I now have a bath dam, which is great as I don't need to fill the bath all the way. They say they only fit on a standard straight bath but I have a p shaped bath and it fits that fine too.

2 months.. He was a solid sturdy boy even then tho. I used the summer infant support and www.babydam.com.. He loved being able to kick more and was just fine on the support, it gave him proper bath times before his bed. So muh easier to just pull the plug after too!
