My LO is now 16 months and is sort of in a confused phase I feel. Some days she'll need a 2nd nap and other days, she sits up and sings in her crib until I come back to get her lol. Whats average I'm curious for a transition to 1 nap a day??

12 months for DD, but she was very early. Usually it's closer to 18 months. Hang in there. One nap is glorious!

DD dropped hers almost the day after her first birthday, but she was an early transitioner from early on, she dropped her third nap around 6/7 months.

DS had two up till around 14/15 months, even though he had been a late transitioner up till then.

My dd1 had two naps until she was about 18 months. She loved her naps!

My dd2 had two naps until 11 months.

My LO is in the process of dropping her second one now at 10.5 months. Urgh, why does it have to be so early?! I'm terrified she won't nap at all by 18 months!

My lo is nearly 10 months and only tend to have one a day 😭 but he does sleep about 13 hours at night (with the odd wake up for milk) ds1 used to love sleep and was good at napping!

My first 15-16 months. My second 12 mo. I hate that transition time.. But just try to go with it for now, some days yes and some days no. Soon it will smooth out, but that in between phasing one out Is a pain!

18 months for my DS. He is now 26 months and still has 1 nap per day.

@15 months we dropped to 1 nap right after lunch. The transition wasn't bad for her, and the one nap equals what the 2 naps were lengthwise. It has actually made things easier to plan with just one. Good luck!

Thanks! Yeah I was just going to ask that. So she usually eats lunch at around 11:30 p.m. So I'm guessing a one time a day nap, around 12:30 p.m. would be something to introduce to her now? How long could I expect for this nap to last?

My daughter naps after lunch for 2-3 hours.

DD2 is 11 months and is pretty much on 1 nap a day now. DD1 was 10 months when she went down to 1 nap so a pretty similar timescale, it was always after lunch for 2-3 hours. DD1 stopped napping completely just after she turned 2 which is earlier than I would have liked but I expect DD2 will follow suit. On the upside both my girls sleep well at night so I guess you can't have everything :winkwink:

My son didn't drop his second nap until around 20months. Now at 2 1/2, he takes a 2-3 hour midday nap

15 months is the average. Though a lot of babies/toddlers go through a stage of resisting a second nap at 11 months.

DS1 began dropping his second nap from 11mths, but didn't completely drop it until 13.5mths.

My boys are rubbish napper though and never had 3 scheduled naps. In fact I'm still trying to convince ds2 that he needs any naps!! Since 3/4 mths he's pretty much got by on one nap a day, with some days barely having an hour. Zzzz

There used to be a sleep chart floating around that listed the amount of sleep in total. I've found that more useful than worrying about nap and bedtimes.

My youngest is 9 months now and has one long late morning snooze and often isn't bothered about a second late afternoon nap. He could probably give it up completely because he sleeps really well at night time, but I enjoy the extra bit of peace. My oldest was on one nap a day before he turned one and gave them up completely at 18 months.
