Hi everyone,

When did you start dropping bottles? My Lo is nearly 9 months old and still takes 4 bottles a day although I'm reluctant to drop any because he's still so small. He's around 17lb so smaller than your average 9mo. He still wears some 3-6 clothes lol.

He was a month prem and weighed 5lb10 at birth.

This is him here just to show you an idea of his size

Thanks everyone :flower:

I have been wondering the same as some people keep telling me to drop a bottle, but she still wants 4 bottles and I'm happy to keep giving them to her.

She's also a little smaller than average. She's almost 18lbs, was 7lbs 10oz at birth.

Stalking.

It's difficult to judge isn't it, he isn't a big fan of milk taking about 22oz total from his 4 bottles roughly. I'm worried if I. Drop one he won't get all the nutrients he needs and that he might drop weight.

My LO is the same, she only has just over 5oz each feed apart from bedtime bottle where she'll take 7oz. So she only gets about 20-21oz a day.

We were in the same boat a few months ago. At nine months LO was taking four bottles and my HV told me to cut it to three. I tried and while he didn't seem to miss it during the day (I replaced the morning one with a snack), but he started to wake for a bottle in the night. I put him back on four until a month ago at ten months as he was fussing with the morning one. He is now on just three and strangely I find he drinks more from each now. I would give it a go for a day or two to see what happens.

ETA: DS is little too, he was 19lb 2oz a few days ago after a huge growth spurt. He was only 17 1/2 lbs ish at 9 months.

at about 8 months Molly was on 3 8oz bottles a day morning lunch and tea. then at 9 month shes just had 2 morning and bed time and as of today 10 months just her bed time one :) she does have 8oz though :) x

Thanks for all your replies. Just now his routine is -

6.30am - 6oz bottle
7.30am - porridge (any left over milk added to this)

10am - half slice of toast with butter and cheese (most of this ends up squashed down side of high chair lol) with water

11am - 5oz bottle
11.30 - half tall jar or equivilant and a yoghurt with water

3pm - 5oz bottle half a tall jar or equivalent and some finger foods

7pm - 6oz bottle with porridge (any left over from bottle in porridge)

Which bottle would you guys drop?

I don't understand why he is so lights ESP with the amount he eats lol

Thanks

Xxxx

Keep giving him as much milk as he wants. Food should simply be a supplement especially up until 1 year. My 1st boy was little at 1 year he was just under 17lbs. I never restricted his milk intake and let him decide how much he wanted. All food offerings were after bottles until after he was over 1 year old.
