When is a good time to introduce breastmilk in a cup/sippy?

So Violet is just about to turn 9 months so I'm thinking ahead a bit, but I'm wondering when might be a good idea to introduce milk in a cup/sippy. She only ever gets milk from a bottle when I'm at work and I haven't been working lately since I work at a school. I'll be working again in September. I'm thinking that perhaps around a year my husband could try giving her (breast)milk in a cup or sippy cup when I'm at work. I plan to let her wean herself but don't want to interfere with breastfeeding. Do you think that (breast)milk in a cup when I'm gone will affect things differently? What do you think?

My DS gets breast milk from a cup (doidy or sippy) and it hasn't had any negative effect on us. We introduced a sippy with a little bm in it when he started taking solids at a more-than-negligible rate. My only advice is to let them practice with water until they kind of get the hang of it, otherwise you'll have a lot of wasted milk. He now takes ~1.5oz of breast milk in a doidy at every meal. That's an estimate because he sometimes still just decides to dump it and other times he's quite careful to savor every drop.
We're also going the self-weaning route. I'm honestly doubtful if it makes one lick of difference, but I personally felt the need to separate the milk in a cup from nursing in an evident way, so we give him his cup milk cold from the fridge. If he wants a warm drink, he has to cuddle up to mama or dada and nurse/take a bottle. And I really only bothered because we're going to avoid offering cow's milk or juice as a drink, but I wanted him to be able to drink something besides water with meals. We still offer water after he finishes his breast milk, but with such an active, exploratory, distractable baby, I'm just happy to get the calories into him.

No idea but my lo kept trying to reach for my glass so I pulled out a sippy cup at 5 months and put water in it and she surprised me by grabbing it with both hands and using it! She didn't take to water, she let it run down her face! She's never been given a bottle, so I decided to try a little breastmilk in it last week and she took every drop, protesting loudly when it was empty! Every baby is different. Can't hurt to try!

Haha, at 9 months, she's not big with the sippy cup. She's actually not even that big on bottles. I'll work an 8 hour shift with a half hour of travel both ways and she'll only take 4 to 6 ounces while I'm away...

i gave it to my boy from about 5/6 months, tried both small cups and from one of those tommee tippee first cups- free flowing, and he is getting much better at it.

Although now he is eating solids i tend to just give him water in the beaker, he loves it!
He has never had a bottle either.

At 9 months she already knows what she wants! If she is hungry she will take it eventually. I wouldn't worry too much about it. If you have breast milk to spare I don't see it interfering with breastmilk if your hubby gives it in a cup to lo. Breastfeeding is well established and these little babies are quite smart!

She is actually more interested in the sippy cup now. Not taking much from it, but certainly enjoying exploring it!
