Hi ladies :hi:

Just wondering if anyone knows when in pregnancy it's safe to fly (on an airoplane obviously ).

I've heard it's between 3 and 6 months, is that right?

We are thinking of booking a hol for early next year as we wont get one in the summer with a tiny baby (as long as everything goes ok - fingers crossed).

Do you need to get a letter of consent from your doc/midwife or anything?

You can fly from the beginning to the 36th week. There after it is not safe. From week 28,you must have a doctor letter that indicates that it is safe for you to fly. That is an airline regulation. They usually dont ask for the letter but if they do,make sure that you have it otherwise they will not let you fly.

yes it's just the very final few weeks where it's uncertain. I live away from my family in the UK and remember looking this up once - each airline has it's own policy on it. I remember BA seeemed to allow you to fly later - 2 weeks before birth I think, whereas easyjet were maybe more like a month.
I may be wrong with those figures, but each airline does have it's own policy on pregnant ladies.
