When is the easiest transition to the nursery?

Right now our 10 week old sleeps in her pack n play in our room, with one night feeding around 3:00am. I'm absolutely fine with the arrangement, makes it easy for me. The kid's rooms are all the way on the other end of the house, so moving her over that way would be inconvenient for a night feeding. She takes all her naps in the nursery so it's not a totally foreign place for her - just wondering if I miss some window of opportunity, like before she becomes "too aware" of her surroundings - will it be super hard to get her to sleep in there if I wait until she stops waking to feed? Maybe 6, 7 months? Or should I just get her in there now before she really knows the difference?

I think it really just depends on the individual baby. We didn't transition DD to her own room until she was a year old, and she had no problem being in her own room. :)

In the UK it is recommended that babies share room with parents until six months old to lower risk of cot death. We moved our first at six months. Second is nearly eight months and due to be moved soon.

I moved my first around his 1st birthday with no issues (he slept though the night from 3 months) and he went with no issues. I plan on doing the same with my daughter. X

I moved our little guy at 8 weeks. He is literally in the room right next to us though and I also have a video monitor, lol. Seems weird to have a monitor when he is so close but I have to see what is going on with him when I wake up at night.

It took a few days to get him to sleep in his crib on his back because he was used to the top bassinet of the Pack n Play. Once I got him used to sleeping on his back, by swaddling, he was totally fine with sleeping in his crib. Now he sleeps 7-10 hours at 3 months at night.

We had our son sleeping in the Halo Bassinest in our room, once he started turing over we moved him into his nursery. We did always nap him during the day in his nursery so he was used to sleeping there. It literally shares a wall with our bedroom and we can hear him clearly even with the baby monitor off (although I do always keep it on).

We moved when they outgrew the Moses basket as the cot wouldn't fit.

For us that was about 4-6 months on both. It also coincided with the night feeds dropping which made my life easier :-)

I did it at about 5/6 months because her sleep got really bad but I think we were disturbing her and once she went into her own room I moved her in with the bed she slept in in our room so there wasn't too much change but I honestly think she would have been fine without us doing that

We made the transition with our twins around 3 months. I would have waited longer, but they outgrew the Rock n Plays in our room and the cribs were the next best thing. We did crib naps during the day, as you said that you also do, and we use a musical mobile that they LOVE. Between those things (and a few other tricks), our boys made the transition within a week. In case it helps, these are all the things we tried. Good luck, mama! https://www.theydontfeedthemselves.com/transitioning-twins-to-cribs/
