i have been dream feeding lo since birth i dream feed her every night at midnight but she is still waking up at 4am ! shall i not dream feed her tonight ? i going to give her water at 4am instead of milk and see how she goes . any advice ?

I've been dreamfeeding from birth too.
IMO you're giving the dreamfeed is too late...should be between 10 and 11 or you're cutting into the night and disturbing her sleep.
Maybe bring it forward to 11pm?

i dont atall hun i stopped dream feeding a while back :)

xxxxx

I'm gradually dream feeding earlier and earlier rather than cutting it out altogether. I agree with Mum2be that midnight is a bit late. I would try 11pm for a week... then 10.30 etc.

Yeah that's a good way of weaning them off the dreamfeed I reckon. I think I'm going to wait til Ruby is eating a decent amount of solids, (she's not having any yet) or until she just stops drinking it.

I don't FF and my LO is a lot younger but I do dreamfeed - which is why I read this post as one day I'll need to try & phase it out...

Anyway I may be wrong but stopping the dreamfeed AND changing the 4am feed to water seems an awful lot of change & reduction in milk in 1 go.

I agree that your dreamfeed seems late so maybe move it a bit earlier & then once LO has adjusted to that you could start slowly replacing the 4am feed.
