when should i start testing with hpt???!

My last period was from march 17th- march 25th... this month i have been trying to conceive with my husband but im unsure as to when i should start testing/ when i would get an accurate answer... i am irregular so i really dont know when i ovulated, and i have not been using opk's or bbt!
I baby danced on April 6th/ April 11th/April 15th... we are not having sex every 2-3 days... but that is our personal choice at the moment & my cycles are average = 43 day cycles.
