Went to get measured today since I was at the mall anyway. Only a small change: 32B to 36C. The nursing bras I want are on sale right now, but is it too early to be buying them?

I was advised to wait until 36 weeks or so when I had my son. I've bought a couple of really stretchy ones on sale but am holding off on buying what I need until I'm closer to my due date.

You can get them now, but based on my own experience I would go a breast size bigger. My boobs really filled our when I was actively nursing.

What is the stores return policy? I would buy them on sale then return them if they don't fit as you get closer.

My boobs actually don't change until my milk comes in, so I bought one bra to be comfortable because of how tender my boobs are during pregnancy and then bought a couple more once my milk came in.

I wouldn't buy until your milk comes in. My breasts always change in size once the milk comes. Maybe get one on the stretchier side in the mean time so you don't have to go without

Soft stretchy ones can be bought now, like lounge bras. I would not buy sized ones until 6 weeks or longer post birth. Your ribcage will shrink back, probably a 34 in your case, and your cup size mau change as well.

I can still use my nursing bras from when I was 73lbs heavier. Only thing is breast area is a lil loose but mine are kinda stretchy and it has three clip sizes on the hooks. They are still the most comfy, even though I don't need them atm :haha:.

Good call. I may just buy one because my band right now is a 32 and even on the last clip it's killing me. Really need a 36.

Also checking their return policy would be too logical so I didn't think to do that lol

And now my cousins are saying they're overrated. I definitely want a few Camis though if not bras.

Camis are nice, I used them too, a lot actually.

You could also consider buying a band extender if you don't want to spend a lot now.

I bought mine at about 37ish weeks, but just one wired and a couple wireless sleepers. The wired isn't super comfortable overnight but it looks good for when I go out. The wireless ones are nice and stretchy. That's close enough if you're not too eager to be shopping for bras with a newborn (and I definitely would have been lost without at least ONE proper nursing bra that clips down for all the 3000 guests) just make sure the cup has room to expand. (good nursing bras will have a bit of a stretchy cup) And ensure that the fit on the band is good on the maximum clip or use an extender to give you an extra inch or two, so the fit will work once your rib cage starts to shrink. (and remember elastic stretches too so the band WILL get looser)

I wish we could boycott bras because of how expensive they are..........

See I love bras. I don't mind the price just because the ones I buy are pricey upfront but last ages. To put it in perspective, I'm wearing a frederick's of Hollywood bra that I bought in store. Their stores closed over two years ago lol. But the real reason I don't want to invest is I'm planning on a lot of weight loss post birth and a breast augmentation next summer so I'd rather save my money for bras until then

Good luck with your weight loss! I hope it goes fast for you. Like I said though I still fit the bras that I wore when I was 73 pounds heavier. I don't shop online so I have to go to those specialty stores for maternity clothes. I don't like Target or Walmart or anything like it for clothes unless it's lounge stuff. It's like $50 a bra at these specialty stores :(. Highway robbery I tell you just to hold my boobs up :haha:.

I still recommend a clip down bra for breastfeeding. Several, as mine get spit up on regularly. :haha: But, you could go for low-price and comfortable instead. I mean, I didn't want to go bra-free while breastfeeding because I needed something to hold the breastpads in. It would have been rather messy otherwise. (besides the fact my boobs aren't tiny to start... I wonder what their cup size when filled with milk is. >.> )

$50 for a bra?! Yeah that's insane. I'd be unhappy. I thought 2 for $45 was pricey haha
