When to give water?

Soooooo we've reached six months and are doing blw'ing so when do you give a bit of water with a meal? I don't want to be expressing milk for it to be tipped all over the floor... We have a Doidy cup which he's just played with empty so far. And is it just tap water boiled that you give? I feel a bit too clueless about this

I'm not sure when you are supposed to give water - but I didn't bother until Logan was probably 8-9 months... and it was just sips.

I just offered a sippy of cooled boiled water with meals. She threw is around mostly. She actually drinks some now but didnt for aaaages

Hebe didnt get along with the doidy at first but now she's better. She's too eager to grab everything!! I've started giving her it again recently and it's surprising how easily they take to them - neat invention.
