When to order dress?

I thought I'd left myself plenty of time by planning on ordering the dress after Christmas (get married next December) but now I'm pregnant and not due til June so really unsure about when to order dress and sizes etc. Anybody else been in the same position and how did you work round it?

never been in that situation hon, but could you perhaps go and try some dresses on now, that way you no what you like, and then speak to the different shops - if i was in your position, i may be inclined to order it now, and then have the alterations done once your baby is here, but that is with knowing how my body went back after having maddi - i have always been bigger - so it wasn't an issue. if not, i think your have plenty of time to sort your dress out after baby is here xx

well i am getting married this dec an my dress only arrived 2wks ago so u got plenty of time ;-) lol

Wait intill u have lost your baby weight and then go dress shopping x

i'd go ahead and get your measurements now cause if you work on loosing the baby weight you'll be good to go by next december w/ the sizes.

I ordered mines about 8 months before the wedding as most of the time they take so long to come, i then found out i was expecting but had been dieting anyway so the dress was big,they left the final fitting until 2 weeks before the wedding just incase it needed altered but luckily it didn't. It's far easier to take a dress in so if you order just after you have given birth and then lose weight it should still be fine.

I am in a similar situation!!
We don't have a bridal shop here so I have to fly 2 hours to the nearest city to shop! I went this past weekend and found the perfect dress, BUT I am 4 months preggers and the dress didn't fit quite right. I am due in March and wedding in July so I got the woman to take my measurements anyways, and I will order the dress in my normal size. Then once the babe is born, hit the gym hard to make it fit!!!

Well we get married in October next year and having said I was leaving dress shopping until next year and duly having my ear chewed off my my mum, MIL2b & SIL2B, I caved in and called some dress shops.

Can't get an appointment with the shops until end of November or early December and the ladies there have all said I really am doing the right thing looking now and when I said I thought it was too early they laughed!!

I'd be inclined to try now, speak to some of the ladies in the shop and see what they recommend.
