I've been exclusively pumping for my twins since they were born. Unfortunately, now that I'm pregnant with #3, my supply has almost vanished. I decided to retire the breast pump and weaned myself down over a few days.
Currently, it's been 46 hours since I last pumped. I'm not engorged, I'm not uncomfortable, I'm not full, but there is milk in my boobs. I'm no fuller than I was 24 hours ago (at least, I can't feel any difference). I'm not having any pain, no hard spots or red spots. Everything seems fine.
All I'm wondering is how long will the milk hang around before it goes away? Since I'm not uncomfortable, I don't want to pump and empty them and just end up prolonging the process. I know I'll still produce a few drops here and there but should I expect to be relatively empty in a week? Two weeks?
