Maybe best just looking at sites that let you design a t-shirt and then they do it all for you.

in the past you always could get t-shirts printed, are these shops not around anymore?

then you just have to set the typeface on the computer yourself, buy the piece of clothes you want (white is best) and get it printed

ps: a friend of mine in Germany has two bodies for her baby, which were given to her as a present and from what the print says, they look "self-made" as well.

Alot of places that print letters etc onto cars or whatever do t-shirts too. Go on yell.com and type in t-shirt printers and then your area.
