Just looked at dailymail online and they have a picture of the poor woman, who's children were killed by the nanny, obviously hysterical in the ambulance how dare they publish that!

And then another picture
a firefighter giving a baby CPR
it was a truley horrific story which I'm sure will stay with me forever but to post a picture like that is just wrong. thst baby has a family and deserves respect!

:nope:

:nope:, Nobody deserves such intimate images being posted, its completely unfair and unjust when somebodys grieving. Anyone who takes images like that need their heads checking, Wheres the compassion :(

There isn't any at all whatever sells and makes them more money.

Just looking at the daily mail front page makes me so sad. What sort of world are my children going to grow up in

It's funny you should mention this as I read this story this morning and was shocked at how graphic the press were writing this. Totally to much info. Totally agree with you.

:nope:

I swear, its all about the shock factor these days and not about the people they are reporting.

I always thought that people had a job and leave them be. But after seeing certain things, being a journalist is definitely scraping the bottom of the barrel in a job. Not even if you paid me all the money in the world would I degrade and humilate the people in which they do.

Daily mail and other similar papers disgust me.

It's definitely shock factor they go for.

It's obvious how distraught the mum is I don't see how petting a picture adds any kind of journalistic value.

The second picture will never leave me. The selfish part of me thinks how dare they expose me to something like that with no warning but the bigger thing is the sheer lack of respect for another human being, no matter how tiny they are or whether or not they are still with us. They still deserve the respect we all do

Completely agree.

We show similar photos and videos at work as part of our safety campaigns...but they are very specific about who we show that too and believe me - they are aware of the types of photos that they will see!

They should have some sort of spoiler thing on here that you are able to look should you so wish - they don't even give the reader the option to 'opt out'.

Don't you feel as though we are being more and more dehumantised too.

I know that they offer counselling to those directly affected in these types of cases - but we are all different. It takes a special someone to be able to deal with these events and to show the photos is completely irresponsible IMO. There are people who will suffer from seeing these photos.

Definitely. Some people now wouldnt even question those pictures.

It's like their not real people.

I think I'm pretty tough but for a while after seeing the pictures I just couldjt think of anything else. I couldn't talk and I know it will effect me.Someone more vulnerable could be very very effected by them.

I posted a thread about this in News & debates section :flow:

Horrible, obviously just thinking about selling a story than giving the mother her own space after discovering her children's bodies
Truly disturbing

And the nanny with blood all over her being carried on the stretcher

I know the newspaper industry is dying and desperate, but there is no excuse for such insensitivity and indiscretion.
I think not only who would publish that, I think who would buy that? That's almost worse, in my opinion. :(

 that is disgusting.

I dont actually think it is the newspaper industry dying thing, the Sun, the DM they have been like this for years. The Sun at least since when my sister died (1979).

I saw it, it's horrendous! Such a sad sad story, this family should not have cameras shoved in their faces like this! Also, I couldn't read the story properly as it was so graphic!!

I think the pick of the man doing cpr is on the nanny, not the child x

I was just saying in another thread that I know the press rules are actually quite strict in the UK about the press and the bereaved but not sure how it works with this story cos the photo was taken in NY but printed in the UK.

The baby was a different report. A man killer his girlfriend and newborn :'(

It seems like anything goes at the minute.
The French apparently have really strict laws protecting people's rights but got away with those horrid pictures of Kate topless because they are English

i dont buy or read these papers - but i think its awful how everything now is published in papers or shown on the news - without a thought it seems to the families effected x

Yeah. I know if you threaten them with press complaints they usually listen cos press complaints are good with bereaved families, however they know that she wont be doing that :nope:
