My LO has been suffering from reflux, and is now on Gaviscon. She has Cow and Gate Comfort and it goes much thicker with gaviscon. It now takes her such a long time to feed and she often falls asleep during a feed and I have to try to keep her awake. Poor thing is sucking so hard for not much milk.

I have the Avent bottles with the original teat (just 1 hole) and know that she needs new tears but am unsure which? Fast flow? Variable teat?

Yeah variable flow is best for thicker liquids. It has 3 different settings you can adjust it to depending on the thickness of the milk you are using. xxx

We were thickening milk with Carobel and used avent size 3 teats

when my lo was on confort milk with gaviscon the size 3 teats clogged up as the holes arent any bigger they just have extra holes for faster teats. the variable flow was much better but a little too fast so i ended up with a different brand. i would say try variable flow :)

Personally I'd say none of the avent ones. I preferred NUK; the NUK ones have only one hole but its bigger depending on whether the teat is S, M or L. M or L is perfect for comfort milk, I used the L ones when my son was on comfort xx

Thanks! We have all Phillips Avent bottles, will other branded teats fit or can we only have Avent teats?
We have just bought variable flow but our LO is getting covered in milk (running down her chin etc) as she is now used to sucking really hard through the slow teats. Will she get used to them or should we try another brand?

I'm beginning to feel like we will never get it right :(

We use the Avent variflow as lo had 2 lots of gaviscon and his prescription milk would get quite thick as it started to cool. We found they worked great.

I know in the past the NUK wide neck teats worked great with avent bottles I don't know if they still do xx

When LO was little, we used to have to unscrew the Avent 'collar' on the bottle a little bit to make it easier for LO to suck the milk out - something to do with the vacuum pressure I think. Might help?
