I posted this on 2nd tri and was told I'd get some good reply's here

After much debate I've decided I'm going to FF.. But looking at the amount of formula's out there I can honestly say I'm terrified of getting it wrong!!

So basically.. What formula have you ladies used?? And why??

We use Cow & Gate for Joe and have done since birth as BF didn't work out for us.

We don't really have a reason why we used this, apart from that was what the hospital gave us as we weren't prepared with formula as I just assumed we'd BF. We're really lucky that it's worked out fine and we've had no problems this far using C&G.

I started using Aptimal formula but at 9 weeks old my son started refusing his feeds so the doctors said he could have a sensitive tummy and to switch him to comfort milk which i did and he was a different baby the moment he had it and has been on Aptimal Comfort milk ever since (he's 6 months old now) but now he's weaning I want to move him to the number 2 formula and Aptimal don't do a comfort in number 2 only Cow and Gate do so he will be on that soon.

But i do sympathise there are so many different brands out there it's confusing

i have started Lana on Cow&Gate because only SMA and Cow&Gate sell the starter packs near us and they sell Cow&Gate in our local shop

wen i stopped expressing mw advised aptimal would be best as closest taste to bm... but luisa didnt poo at all on aptimal so we tried cow and gate,.. she is now on cow and gate follow on and doing great:)

mw said they are all good diff brands suit diff little ones and she only particually recc aptimal as i had been expressing

Joseph was on aptamil from 2 days old and was always fine on it. He had colic but I'm sure he would have had that anyway, we changed over to the easy digest and it made him even worse so I put him back onto the normal aptamil and his colic just went by itself at 3 months x

I went with SMA because thats what they gave us in hospital

Since I'm in the US, I'm not sure what the comparitive product would be in the UK, but Similac just about killed our little girl (gas, gas, gas, constipation, constipation!) so after being up for weeks on end with colic, and much discussion with other mom's, all of whom said, "Nestle Good Start, Gentle Ease" we tried it. It was like night and day and I never looked for anything else. You really just have to see what works for your little one...and you'll know right away what doesn't!

I use Cow and Gate now. Started out on SMA but this made him contsipated and sicky, then tried Aptamil and Aptamil Comfort, neither made any difference so tried C&G and he's great now

I tried NAN 1 Gold, then quiqoz from Nestle.. but both caused vomitting for my LO. Today I switched to Aptamil AR from Milupa. For the 1st time today, my LO smiled after his feed, & he didnt vomit after winding..
