I should really start making more of an effort soon with sleeping on the left side. I have this thing (have had it since I was a child) that I have to fall asleep facing the door but I must stop that and try and sleep facing the other way! Thought a pillow might encourage me and be more similar to sleeping on my tummy but without putting pressure on the bump to be.

Hi, I just posted a similar thread asking about sleeping positions and the left hand side! :)

Sucks doesn't it lol. I think it's just because I know I can't sleep on my right side and now it's all I want to do.

Ive not heard of that. Why is that????
My philosophy is, if I can get sleep I take it!!!

I sleep how ever I can get comfy- left/right/back/tummy(yes I can still sleep on my tummy :D)

I also sleeep however i can. Im a tummy sleeper and although i try not to sleep on tummy now i still end up doing so.

You can sleep on either side though left is thought to be best for circulation. Sleeping on your back past the 1st trimester is considered dangerous because the weight of your uterus will press down on a major vein and can slow blood down to your heart/brain and your baby as well.

My fellow Septembryo, Firegal, recommends the Mothercare Dream Genii pillow. It is pricey but will be useful postnatally too.

I may investigate this soon as I am currently ending up on a over to the left on a pillow almost on my front position. Tis probably just as well I have a bed to myself though as I wake a lot to readjust...

Boppy Total Body Pillow is the best.It is C-shaped feeding pillow that provides comfort all over the pregnancy. It gives your head and neck the support desired. You are also able to tuck it in your legs. It is simple to reposition and readjust beacuse of its shorter length. It stops body and muscle pain for it supports your head, neck and legs.It is usually easy to keep because it includes a removable slipcover that may be removed and washed.
