The doctor cut the cord, but he cut it long enough that DH was still able to cut the cord, per say. So the cord was actually cut twice, not the same, but still better than nothing.
In New Zealand the surgeon cut the cord both times, but they leave it long and the your OH or whoever you have with you can cut it short if they want to. Mine did with Thomas but didn't with Sophie as he was busy taking photos.
I'm in Canada and with my 2nd baby ha a csection, which the medical staff cut the cord. Now expecting my 3rd baby and 2nd csection I'm told by my midwife that I can choose to have my husband cut the cord as long as there are no issues during the surgery.
I'm in UK, same as another poster, they cut the cord but left enough for my hubby to have a little go too, he still felt a little more included even if it wasnt the same x
Doctor cut first, but he left it long enough so DH could "trim" it too as per my request to have him cut the cord. Better than nothing, but yes still different.
My husband cut the cord. They did delayed cord clamping which I had never heard of for a c-section. Then they asked him if he wanted to cut the cord. We were both surprised that was even an option. Especially since my section was done at 30 weeks so getting her into the nicu quickly was critical.
