Who gets in contact with who?

Does anyone know who usually gets in contact with who for all the things booked in advance. Things like photographer, DJ, florist etc I'm just trying to be prepared and I'm not sure if I should be waiting to hear from them to sort arrangements in the next few months or if I'm the one who makes contact with them?

You would hope they would make contact with you (seeing as its a business deal to them) but I wouldn't wait around for them. I need to contact our photographer very soon. Haven't spoken to him in months Hope he hasn't changed his email address. Haha
