Who's walking you down the aisle?

I'm considering asking my mum if she would like to do it because my dad has never really been a father figure in my life and it wouldn't feel right if I had someone like my grandad or brother 'give me away'. Ever since I was about 9 my mum's been on her own bringing me up, supporting me emotionally and financially and I have become quite close over the last few years so I think I'd feel most happy having her walk me down the aisle. In fact, I think I'd love that.

How about you guys?

Hi :hi:
I am having my Dad walk me down the aisle. I am very close to my Dad and I can't imagine anyone else doing it :)
I think if you want your mum to walk you down the aisle then you should have it that way!! It is your wedding after all!!!

This is a dilemma for me! My step dad has brought me up, but my dad would be immature about it.

my dad! not 'biological' but the man who has raised me! who's dad/granddad, i did think about mum, but i love my dad to do it :)

My Dad :cloud9:

Although, we don't really have an aisle but we will walk in together and I can't wait for that first time I see him all ready and smart looking

My Dad :laugh2: I am a big daddy's girl so i wouldn't want anyone else walking me down the aisle. But if you prefer to have your mom walk you thats wonderful. it is your wedding you should have it the way you want

Unfortunately my father will be. We are fighting at the moment and since he has been re-married he has replaced me with his new wifes daughter. I am not impressed at all!!! But i know that he would be really really really immature about it if i didnt ask him. But i am going to have both my mum and dad "give me away" which i think is the important part :)

My dad. But if I was in your situation I would have my mum do it too x

I'm having my dad. He's always been around and there for me and I've also always had a very traditional nuclear family set-up so for me it makes sense. If you want your mum to walk you down the aisle then have her sweetheart, as long as it's what feels right for you! :hugs:

Beca

This is my situation too. OH and I have talked about it as well as it plays on my mind. I've even spoken to my stepdad about it. I think I would prefer to have my stepdad give me away but I will probably have one on each arm if that's possible? I would feel bad for making either sad IYKWIM. My dad and I aren't really close... I love him but I don't like him sometimes. It's a long story and he has let me down many times in the past. I would like two father-daughter dances as well.

Glad you posted this question as im a little stuck on this one! My dad left when i was little,we still talk but he isnt worthy of that duty as a father in my eyes. My grandmother would be soooo upset if i asked my step dad as no1 likes him and tbh, neither do i! And my grandad who i was going to ask passed away in july :( so im stuck!

Im pretty close to my FIL to be but my SIL will have a fit if i ask him.

x

I just don't know :( Always said it'd be my mum as she brought me up alone but I have been in contact with my dad for the last 7 yrs and we get on really well now. He is also paying for a wee bit of the wedding - but then so is my mum!)

My dad for 2 reasons my a daddys girl always have been always will be , and for two im so proud of my dad being able to walk as he was told as a baby he would never walk that it makes me weepy thinking about my dad walking me down the aisle.

My grandfather (mom's dad) walked me down the aisle. Although my father and stepfather were both at the wedding and my biological father and I shared the father-daughter dance (my stepdad and I never really got along), my Papa was the best and most constant father figure in my life and I wanted to honor him and let him know how much he's meant to me.
