why are there BFP anouncments here???

sorry to spoil the party and its great news for those that get there bfp but im sure im not the only one feeling low about bfn or af arriving and i have just got so upset at seeing bfp announcments when they have been posted and not even part of an existing thread there is a section for that i spent all night crying my eyes out might sound silly or selfish but plese have some consideration

This forum has the same rules as the regular ttc forum.
Please post your BFP announcment in the BFP announcment section! If i wanted to feel depressed, i'd go there and look. I don't want to see your announcment the day the witch hits me, your rubbing salt in a wound.
Some people just don't understand, the ones i have seen on here it was their first couple of months, so they don't know what its really like to feel sad about this.

I agree ladies....I had to log off yesterday as I was upset at seeing them. Im very down at the moment & come on here for support & seeing BFP's all over the place just makes me feel worse

I was thinking the same thing after this month's bfp. I'm so happy for all the people who got their bfp's and I will pop over to bfp and say congrats to everyone who has on a better day but there are some times of the month (i.e just after getting a bfn) that I find it a little upsetting iykwim

There isn't anything in this section to say to not do it, the main TTC section has a sticky (and people still do it anyway, grrrr).

Maybe if there was a sticky at the top it would stop, or at least reduce the number of announcements.

I noticed this yesterday too. I think it is all the members who havnt been on here for very long so they dont know the rules. I cant remember or not, but when you sign up, is there something that tells you to make sure you read the stickys or are we just trusted to read them? If it doesnt, maybe that might be a good idea just so that they are all aware from day one.

I am very happy for everyone that gets their BFP but I have to agree that there are certain days that I just cannot deal with it

I agree they're upsetting at certain times of the month and it's just not the place for them in here. There is a special BFP section just for that purpose and if we wanted to see any BFP posts that's just where we'd go.

I for one have stopped visiting the BFP section because there were just so many who had been trying just 1 or 2 months and gotten pregnant and I found it too upsetting and demoralising and it made me feel inadequate. I'm much happier now I don't look in there, so I definitely don't want to see similar posts in this section.

I'm glad this has been put up here. I didn't want to be the one to say anything.
My best friend felt bad telling me she was pregnant. She knew I'd feel upset and I adequate. What's funny is that just weeks before, we had been talking about having kids, and I remember her laughing and saying, "don't worry! I won't get pregnant before you!"
turns out she was already pregnant, she just had no symptoms. She found out at about 14 weeks. Lucky girl.
I cried. A lot. And it stemmed an argument with DF and I when he called me selfish.

She does have a gorgeous almost-four-month-old little chubball that I absolutely love and spoil, though.

But yes. Announcements of BFPs can be highly inappropriate in a forum like this. While we ARE happy for you and love to picture ourselves in your shoes and fantasize about how we'll announce our BFPs...it could be that you're announcing it on a day that one of us got terrible news. We could have had a less-than-positive test result or doctor's visit. Or gotten AF that day and know we have another two weeks before we can even think about trying again.
So while it's totally awesome to be you with your positive now...it's less than awesome to be us right now.

I got the impression that people may do it so that their 'friends' (people they've known for a while in a particular section) can see their good news. I can see why it may offend though

they can mesage there fiends or put it in threads that there friends are in but they dont need to start a new thread for all to see weather you have been ttc for weeks month years or decades it a hard pill to swallow and anyone who is ttc should understand that makes me verry sad
