Why do men stare at pregnant women?

So either I'm going through a phase of paranoia or men are blatantly staring at my bump. It's so annoying! I give them the "what are you staring at look" but they just keep looking.

I'm starting to feel a bit self conscious. What's it all about? Are they thinking I should put it away? (BTW, the belly is not out, I've just been wearing non-flowing tops).

Anyone else experiencing this or should I just put it down to my crazy hormones?

my DH stares at pregnant women's bellies all the time because he thinks it's beautiful and because there's a baby in there and there's a baby in my belly and he thinks it's incredible..

i've had a few creeps looking and i dont' know what that's about, i just ignore it

Haha I'll just tell myself they find it attractive but I think they're not that well meaning. It doesn't bother me at all when you can tell someone is having a look and thinking aaaw or remembering when they were pregnant or something. It's just the blank stare I find unnerving

I may be slightly over-sensitive at the moment

Weird - I don't find they stare! Actually I find the opposite - I noticed men usually go out of their way to avoid looking lol! When I was 8 months PG with LO I was often working on a construction site (I'm an architect - I wasn't actually doing physical work) - anyway as the only woman AND hugely pregnant I found that no one would look at me at all! They would make eye contact, look down at the bump, then get all uncomfortable and look or run away! It was hilarious!

I get stares from men and women, and a lot of smiles. I think people just like seeing pregnant women. It is a nice reminder of the wonder that is life. I don't think it is always a sexual thing with guys... but it is something that is pretty foreign to them to a degree which makes it that much more amazing to witness.

also one of my male friends was staring at me oddly and i didn't like it, then 2 weeks later his girlfriend/partner told me they've started trying because he wants a baby too.. so that answers another reason why..

weirdest thing i've had happen is a guy who i'm "friends" with when he got back of stag with my DH they all came in and were giving me hugs etc. and he ran into the kitchen cos he was scared.. seriously, he backed right off and went and stood in the kitchen. FREAK!!!!!

I've noticed it too, but I don't really care TBH. If I think they're giving me a weird look though, and they're about to pass me in the street I just look right at them and go "it's called pregnant". LOL, you shoudl see the look on their face

I have noticed this lately too. I thought I was just being paranoid until I took my 13 year old son to the store the other day. He said, "Mom, all these guys keep staring at you!! If they touch you I'm going to have to kill them." It was sweet. Later I asked my husband about it and he told me that there is nothing sexier to a man than a pregnant woman. I thought, "Ewwww," but I'm not a man so I don't know.

My OH doesn't stare, he'll see a pregnant woman and say lovely things such as "We'll be that far soon, she gonna have a little baby like us soon" He gets amazed! But i do happen to know he is very attracted to pregnant women also XD

I find people do stare, but maybe its because I am paranoid

I find often its just fascination, I asked a couple of friends who I noticed were staring (male and female) the men openly admitted it was attractive/interesting to them (maybe something to do with procreation) and the women were just curious. One of my friends can't wait until she can start feeling the kicks

Lots of people randomly touch my stomach too, which I don't mind since I know I used to stare and think I wonder what it feels like (never had the balls to start feeling someone up though like some people do!)

Procreation is just fascinating!!

I think they find it attractive.
I know my oh is like a walking hard on since I started showing, ha tmi lol, but nah if I even so much as press up against him he gets one hahahah.
Loads of men in work keep wanting to touch my tummy and keep giving me soppy grins.

Women on the other hand are complete bitches.
Have a few TTC's in work and you'd swear I was a tramp the way they look at me.

Bring on the men I say, always make me feel good.

I went from a B to a D... never had that kind of attention before so I wouldn't know it haha!

It's weird, my boobs are actually looking smaller cause the bump sticks out twice as much as the boobs
