My LO will be 3 months day after tomorrow. From past 4/5 days she is refusing formula & crying hard. She is immediately quite & starts sucking as I put her to breast. My problem is I am not confident of my supply and don't want to take any chances. (had to take a lot of efforts to boost up the supply) Also I just can't keep on feeding her throughout the evening when that is the only job she wants to do. DH can't handle her for 15 min even. It has become extremely tiring for me. Then I have to fool her. I put her to breast & slowly replace it with the bottle. That she drinks..... :haha: But this aslo only I can do... How can I leave her with DH if I need to go out like I need a haircut so badly....
P.S. She takes the bottle without any fuss when she is half asleep.
Can anyone suggest some solution?

I could have written this! My lo is exactly the same! I've just given in and let her feed as much as she wants, she takes a bottle when she's hungry enough!

I needy roots doing and am supposed to be going on a hen do next week!!!! Xx

I had a similiar problem...

I bf dd until 3 months then she refused my breast and screamed and it was heartbreaking so I gave her some formula and now she is fully ff...do what makes you feel happy and your baby happy :)

ps i am using hair grips to hide a horrible long fringe...really need a hair cut :haha:

My LO also started rejecting the bottle at 8 weeks and I can't even trick her in to taking one. I've tried every bottle and nipple there is going but alas, she hates the plastic. And she seems to have forgotten how to suck from a bottle now too. She's not rejecting the formula as she'll lap it up if I squirt some in to her mouth with a syringe. The girl just wants to suck milk from a boob. So, as she feeds on demand, I've not been away from her for more than thirty minutes since she started this up 10 weeks ago! Needless to say, I'll be weaning her early, just so I can leave her with at least DH for a couple of hours should I need to.

OMG! I was hoping some ideas.. but here r a couple of frustrated people like me....:dohh: God bless us!! :flower:

My lo started rejecting the bottle at six weeks. I had supply issues too and when she refused the bottle she was only gaining 2oz max a week. I tried every bottle and nothing worked, so same as bumpbear, I can't really go anywhere. I tried weaning early and she wasn't into that either lol. She is just starting to eat some solids now and will be six months on Saturday. Now I am trying to get her to take a sippy cup. These little ones just know what they like! I am not sure what to suggest. I would keep giving her the bottle in the night if she will take it though.

But by this is she gaining as much she used to be before?

What's her weight gain now? Has it decreased?

My LO was rejecting the bottle for a while. At least that's how I interpreted it but I noticed he would only reject the bottle after I tried to nurse him. If I gave him only bottles he would take them fine. He just got stressed having to switch mid-feed, and since my supply was too low for ebf with no success at increasing it I eventually made the decision to bottle feed all the time. If weight gain had been ok I wouldn't have been concerned but it was pretty low for several weeks and he seemed stressed at every feed. :(
