For this long! Its been 45 min and she's still going. I think she's asleep I pull my boob away or it falls out and she starts rooting for it again. She's been doing this since last night at the end of each feed does something happen around 2 months that makes them super clingy? By the time I get her in bed my butt is numb, my back is killing me, and I'm completely uncomfortable! On top of that OH is being so noisy!!!! Ive seriously never wanted to kick him in the head more than I do right now!

Ive tried switching off with her pacifier and she just gets pissed and wakes up. Seriously if it's not one thing its another! Shes not even sucking on my whole nipple she's gnawing on the very tip and its starting to sting.

My dd went through phases of comfort sucking for hours and then a week later she would be fine and then she would do it again! I don't remember how old she was exactly, but when she was doing the comfort sucking I made sure I was very comfortable to nurse. When she was little I would put pillows beside me as I sat a bit reclined and used the football hold (which seemed to be a lot more comfortable for me).

When she was big enough I started using the side-laying position to nurse and then after she fell asleep I would roll away and wait a bit while she settled and THEN try to move her (OH had the genius idea of putting her to sleep on a blanket and then after she fell asleep we would each take and end and slowly lift her up like a hammock and put her in her bed and tuck the blanket on the mattress).

Then when she was a little bigger we started co-sleeping which made it a lot easier for me. :)

Oh, a lot of people say to slowly pull your nipple out after LO falls asleep, but my dd was/is the complete opposite! When she falls asleep I wait a few minutes and jerk my nipple out and pull back and sit perfectly still while she settles again. Most times it works for me, but not always, but doing it slow NEVER worked.

Good luck!

Lol I wouldn't mind it but she seems to want to do it early in the morning when I first wake up and can barely hold my eyes open and I'm so desperate for her to finish and go back to sleep and late at night is the worst cause she'll stay up super late falling asleep then waking soon after and freaking out because my nipple disappeared which goes on for hours and hours..I end up nodding off for a bit while she's sucking away if I'm lucky I wake up and she's asleep.

I tried the side laying position but she wouldn't keep my nipple in her mouth. Hopefully when she's bigger and can grab my boob herself we can do that during day time feeds so I can just roll away.

Really wish I had a lazy boy recliner our couch is sooo uncomfortable you can't sit in one position for long without getting numb and restless.

Thanks, I might try to make myself a comfy spot on the floor with cushion or go buy a leg rest I'm sure it'll become useful I hear a lot about some 4 month sleep regression + a growth spurt which does not sound fun at all! Still recovering from that 6 week growth spurt that drug on for 2 weeks!!!

Your post made me remember when my lo's were so little... Even now I still don't sit in my La-z-boy much as I was stuck in it with a numb bum for so long during feeds!!! Hahaha

It will pass, and it will help if you can get a few hours to yourself during the day with someone to watch the little one so you can either catch up on sleep or rest.

I'm sorry, I know it's not funny to you, but your post had me in tears laughing. I remember the 'hammock' move fondly. And I still have to rarely do the 'ninja nipple steal' followed by the 'can't see me if I don't move' freeze. Your post really took me back. Thank you.:flower: #overemotional

OH took her to his dads this morning so I could sleep cause she only slept 2 hours all night but it was only an hour before she started screaming and he had to bring her home to me. She started sleeping okay after not sleeping at all and now she's comfort sucking and not sleeping again..well she's sleeping but only for a short period.

Can't wait til she's a little older and spaces out her naps and feeds so I can start a routine everytime I try to get one started she does something like this and screws the schedule up.

Just keep telling myself it doesn't last forever before I know it she'll be 1 and weaning and ill miss everything about breast feeding!

The early weeks are just so much fun arn't they?

"this too shall pass" was something I used to meditate on every freakin moment!!!

I just had this last week. (Wonder week 12)

I think there's an 8 week one too. X

Oh my gosh I'm loving the early weeks I can't wait for number two!!!!!

I think its over now....for like 3 days she would only sleep on my boob so I had to sacrifice sleep I'd nap with her on the couch where OH could keep an eye on us make sure I don't roll on her or accidentally pull my blanket onto her or something. Even though I know I wouldn't ive secretly napped with her once on accident and everytime she moved or made a peep I woke up to check on her. She fell asleep last night on me at about 3ish and I napped til about 430 then at 5 as I attempted putting her in bed I prayed to my grandma (not really religious so usually if I pray I imagine my grandma) to help her stay asleep in bed and she slept from 5 til almost 9 in bed and has been napping pretty well all day.

Ill have to research wonder weeks I was not at all emotionally prepared for whatever that was and it stressed me out so bad OH broke into the emergency formula but as he was preparing a bottle I ran into the living room grabbed lo and told him I'm not ready to give up yet and bfed her.

I never realized how strong the emotional attachment is when you breast feed. When OH was about to give her formula he was doing it to help me out so I could get some sleep maybe take a shower and he kept saying were switching to formula so I can help you and idk why but it made me so sick and I started crying thinking I was horrible and I was letting lo down and that she would somehow love me less cause we wouldn't have our bfing cuddles anymore. And she wouldn't have her beautiful sweet smelling burbs!!! I couldn't do it not even one bottle..so crazy!!!
