While BabyandBump tries to remain pro-choice on most subjects, out of respect for majority of our members that are either trying to conceive, or pregnant, we ask that you do not discuss topics on abortion and terminations outside of the 'Ethical Prenatal Losses' forum.

I'd 'unfriend' her. Doesn't sound like a nice person and is certainly no friend. Small minded and incensitive, but no friend.

she is an a**hole plain and simple

Don't let ignorant people hurt your feelings especially since you have your miracle on the way! Who cares what she thinks, Karma is a bitch and she will get what is coming to her.

Big hugs and congrats on your little bump!

I work at a company that actually does reimburse some of the adoption costs, and you get 4 weeks at 80% pay for adoption. I realize how incredibly lucky I am, and how rare this is - but I really wish more U.S. companies had at least SOME form of adoption assistance. It can cost just as much as giving birth, and the legalities involved can be an immense headache.

I really can't stand the fact that infertility is dismissed the way it is in terms of health coverage. A lot of impotence treatment is covered by insurance - why not IUI? Why not IVF? Just because adoption is somewhat of an alternative, IF is seen as something that doesn't need to be treated?

Ugh!!

Amen, Becky2224! Adoption is not a cheap, easy process.
And that lady was as ignorant as she is rude. Grrrrr. Some people.

She sounds like a total bitch. I got given the "why don't you just adopt' shit too, as it took me 8 years to conceive my son. Now I have 2 kids and get glared at as a fertile cow.
