I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts on what might happen here.
I've never ovulated once in the 18 months since stopping BCP - This is due to very low levels of all the key hormones (Hypothalamus gone into shutdown mode). I've had two failed clomid cycles - no ovulation on 50mg. 100mg resulted in no decent lining but a 23mm 'follicle' which may or may not have had an egg in it. Either way it didn't pop (probably not enough LH surge) and it ended up being a 35mm cyst.
I went back for a repeat scan today. The cyst is now down to 17mm, but right next to it on the same ovary was a 12mm follicle (i hope). Until now they've never got to that size without medication, so this is progress. If my hormones manage to do what they are supposed to, is it possible it could continue to grow and ovulate or will the cyst next to it prevent that? I'm not on any medication now until the cyst goes down.
Oh and also, my understanding is that follicles below 10mm often grow and then shrink, causing the polycystic ovaries. But once they get to 12mm they should be viable ones. Anyone know if that is correct?
Thanks, xx
