Hello ladies

We both love just Will as opposed to William. Just wondered what other ladies thought. Please be as brutal as you like :lol:

X

I like Will as a name, but Id be inclined to use the 'formal' name at least on birth certificate etc of William, then he has the choice as he gets older. xx

Personally I prefer longer names you can shorten, in the main because I hate my one syllable name. However, if YOU just prefer Will I think that's fine, you shouldn't feel the need to conform to a longer name you're really not so into. I know of a Kate (not short for anything), have a friend called Abbie (not short for Abigail) and have a member of extended family called Tom (not short for Thomas, just Tom). It's perfectly usual nowadays for names like Jack (always used to be short for John), Alfie and Freddie, why not Will?

Im also having Will for a boys name, but will put William down on his BC :)

I think Will is beautiful. My own personal preference would be to use william and shorten it so he is never really called William but my friend is called simply Alex and although he does frequently get Alexander he likes that his name is a little unusual and quickly and politely puts people straight.

I love the name Will and William...but I hate the nickname Willy...

My friend recently named her son William (after his daddy) and she really wanted people to just call him Will....... however she is annoyed bc family members are calling him William and/or Billy. So... i say, if you want him to be called Will then just name him Will.

I prefer to have th option of a longer name...so then if in future he decides hed prefer to be called something else he can choose xxxxx

I love Will but would also be inclined to put William on BC so he can use the fomal name if he wants to - simply tell people his name is just Will
