Hi Girls,

Its my 1st pregnancy so a bit clueless.

I'm a rep in construction....so i work from home but also travel around the North of the Uk ( yorkshire over to Liverpool and up to Aberdeen !!)

I also do seminars for architects and I have to book thses in advance.

Anyone any ideas when i should stop driving distances....or when it'll become too uncomfortable??

Thanks xxx

Hi
I was wondering this too, as I drive for work and I'm planning on working up until 37/38 weeks. There's a thread at the moment in third tri about who's still driving - a lot of people seem to be able to drive right up until their due date but probably not long distances! Also I think it depends on how you're feeling, and also how tall you are (whether your bump will fit behind the wheel!)
I'm 25 weeks now and driving is still absolutely fine, but this is my first pregnancy too so not sure how it will be in 10 weeks time!
Sorry not more help, good luck though!

Hi hun, only just saw your thread. Have they done a risk assessment on you yet? If not, ask for one to be set up. This is to assess what is possible for you to do still and what would be risky. I used to work for a car rental company in my first pregnancy and drove cars to deliver them or pick them up all day every day, but this was my choice (i prefered to be on the road then to deal with moany customers!) and i was comfortable doing it. I went on maternity leave early though (at around 7 months) as i had pre-eclempsia, but i was still driving around up until i had my son. This time round, as its twins, im finding it far more uncomfortable and only drive when i really need to.

ONce the assesments done, this will give you a better idea, but if you feel well enough to drive at the moment, i dont see why you cant, although you probably drive further distances than i used to! Also ask your midwife for her opinion. Hope this helps. xx

Thanks chic !!

I was hoping to be able to continue driving probably up until July August time...altho might rain in my long distance journeys by end of June time.

They have done a risk assesment of me yet. I informed them at 12 weeks and they just saiud when the time comes i'd just work from home.

I'll speak to my MW

Thanks

xxx
