Every Christmas we get a small bonus. Last year I got £100 - it isn't much but it definitely helps over xmas.

I'm off on maternity at the minute, and the xmas do is on the 19th December. I know that the bonuses will be handed out then as normal. I'm not going as obviously, just had a baby, can't go anywhere. But am I not still entitled to a bonus? I know that if I don't ask, theres no way I will get. I went on maternity at the end of September, so I worked nearly the whole year - its hardly fair if they don't think I can get anything :/

I think you are entitled to your bonus but I would ask directly. It doesn't matter that you are on maternity, it's the same if you are due a pay increase.

I'd speak to HR directly and be forceful!!! good luck, hun
xxx

I got my yearly bonus paid last month ( a month into my mat leave )

You should definately get it hun x

yep you should get it as its a contractual right which you retain whilst on mat leave.im taking my company to a tribunal as they are saying i wont get mine this is direct sex discrimination.

We get Xmas vouchers and I know a member of my team currently on maternity is getting hers in the post. Definitely ask!

without a doubt you are entilted to a bonus like everyone else. on maternity leave you have EXACTLY the same rights as you do if you were working as normal. You shouldnt have to ask for it should just be shared with you included as normal, if not they are breaking the law xxx

Not exactly, for example its at the companies discretion if they give additional leave to make up for any Bank Holidays you miss and my annual bonus is paid on a pro-rota basis. I left for my leave in March so I am entiltled to 1/4 of next years bonus - all totally legal, I've checked with . I'd check your contract and Maternity Handbook if your company has one. If it's discretionary then they can do as they see fit, contractual, you have a case!
