i recently lost my job, and at the moment we are TTC, i am enjoying being at home all day and being a house wife and looking after my husband etc!

But he is working 2 jobs, and i am looking for employment but where i live, theres hardly anything around!

So was thinking of doing some sort of work from home, but i have no idea what to do or where to start?

ANY advice is welcome :)

i would just like to stay home, but still be bringing money in too!

I'd be interested to see the replies to this. I went back to work three weeks ago after having 9 months off on maternity leave. I'm finding it incredibly hard leaving my little boy and I've had to change my hours at work so that either me or hubby are alway with him, instead of paying childcare. So aswell as hardly seeing my son, I now hardly see my husband either - maybe an hour a day :( I've been thinking of quitting and looking for jobs that I can do at home. The only things I've found are catalogue distribution/collection but i think the pay is based on orders we received which isn't really what I had in mind.

thaqts the only stuff ive seen so far too, and like you say its not ideal! theres no guarantee of a substantial income xx

Im interested in the responces too, ive on mat leave at the minute, just had my last payment but am taking the full 12 months. OH said noway am i going back to the job i was at as the new hours theyve gave me he says will make me ill, looking after Bobby then working then having him again!!

We've said the only option is working weekends (OH works some weekends so when hes working Bobby will have to go to either of our parents) but the more i think about it the more i think im never going to see OH and i dont know what it would do to our relationship!!!

I really have no clue of the things you can do at home though, i look but just cant find anything!!

There isn't a lot that pays real money to be honest. There are a few companies such as teletech where you are an at home technical support phone advisor, or AQA type companies which pay you to reply to questions (but most only pay about 20p per question and they require several minutes to research). Slicethepie is handy for a pennies listening and rating music tracks, it pays around $0.20 per track you review. But the only one of these that really has potential to be a full time wage is teletech - and you'd not be able to answer the phones with children around.

Do you have any skills to enable you to set up your own business?

I was thinking the same thing. My DH and i will be starting to TTC in Janaury and I wanted to see if i could bring in a bit more money in before and after we have a baby. I was looking more into the crafty end of things. I would have to put a bit of money in but there is a big demand for crafty baby items like nappy cakes and those baby headbands. The baby headbands go for £10 and the nappy cakes can go for as much £70. It could be a right wee cash earner!

I was researching this too. I can only see catalogue type jobs.

Anyone heard of bluebella? They seem like Ann summers but a bit nicer :/

I'm new to here and just been reading through some of the forum topics. When I saw this one I thought you may be interested in my story as I've been in a simliar situation.

I was on Mat leave up until July this year and REALLY didn't want to go back to work! I was going to be trying to do 27 hours over 3 days which I hated the thought of. However, I was told in June they were making redundancies, and like you, I just wanted to work at home and look after my little girl myself - not give her to someone else to look after for me :nope:. So I took a big risk and decided to take it. In the meantime I came across Herbalife whilst looking for things to do to earn some money as we obviously still had bills to pay! I found I could start up my own business without putting a load of money in - which is what I found with a lot of other things - you had to pay a fair bit of money out up front to get started. So in a nutshell, I now work from home - and choose exactly what hours I want to work. And I love it as I'm helping people lose weight or achieve their wellness goals.

I'm not really sure how it works - but I'd be happy to give people more info if it's something your interested in. Other than that, I just found catalogues and things like Virgin Vie or Avon which I found didn't touch the side of the benefits of Herbalife.

Hope that helps.

Sorry the "I'm not really sure how it works" comment was about the forum not about my Herbalife work. I do obviously know how that works!
