Hi ladies,

I've just found out I'm getting made redundant whilst on ML  and was wondering if any of you ladies work from home doing something like data entry or the like...? I'm not ready to leave LO quite yet and need to bring some money in!!

Thanks,
xxx

There have been quite a few threads on this part of the forum asking the same question. Mainly people suggested catalogues like Avon and selling products. xxx

I've been reading them with interest!! Sounds great, but my DH has been applying for jobs in a new area (my work was really the only thing tying us here and opportunities for him aren't great here) so we will be moving and think it might be difficult to get started when you don't know anyone iykwim. If we were staying here I'd definately do something like that.

xx

Yes I know what you mean. I wish I could find a data entry job but I think most of them are scams these days. :nope: xxx

well hopefully someone may have some ideas for us - we can live in hope anyways!!

Sadly those data entry jobs are 99% all scams .
I have tried and lost cash with dodgy people before :(

I started with Scentsy in April running my own business(was an £85 outlay) and finding it brilliant, made commissions every month and especially as you can work it anywhere and online.
No targets or anything like that.
And I am actually making money through an online company for once no scam :)

Yeah the data entry all seem to be scams I've looked into them and they all seem to dodgy for me, there may be one out there that is legite but tbh I think you'd struggle to find it.

I honestly believe that you could make a go of an Avon or Forever though as I moved back to London when i started Forever Living and was worried I wouldnt be able to know enough people to make it work but with the training they gave me I was shown how to go to health clubs etc to advertise products and produce leaflets for people to take at their leisure outside of the school gates. the second being my preferred method as it has helped me make some lovelt friends and has made me some lovely customers.

I really wouldnt write them off just because you are moving as the training is available all over the country (world) and really does help you meet others that are in the same boat.

It really has helped me!

I would echo March mummy in respect of direct sales companies evolving so much now that it is possible to work your business anywhere.

Scentsy encourage this and see that one plan doesn't fit all.
I.E I find it hard to do home parties due to the boys and time so I focus on online sales, basket parties and good old catalogue sales which is a perfect blend for me.

And what works for one doesn't for another,we each have particular strengths and areas where we shine :)

The key is to find a company which allows you to develop your skills without making you fit a certain mould,it should fit around you and bring out the best in you :)

Thanks so much ladies! I will have a good old think about it :) You have encouraged me no end though - perhaps I could do this afterall...

There's always sex chat lines haha

I work from home but I am very lucky. I write for a couple of websites, but work like that is few and far between.

Yeah as with cybermum i totally agree the parties dont work for me with my little one around but the company allows for you to work to what works for you and not others. As I said before the main thing is getting your product whatever it is advertised, so as leaflets to working parents for job opportunities, for helath target outside hair and beauty places etc.

I agree you women are amazing, i am currently starting two on-line businesses if they prove to be successful will let you know, will not recommend untill i am sure they work, take care.

Perhaps you have a hobby you could cash in on? Like a crafts hobby you could make an ebay store out of?
