Hi all.

So, we are still waiting for my husband's SA to come in, and I am in scheduled to have a 2nd FSH test and a HSG after I get my period this week. My RE said if those tests confirm his suspicion of low egg reserve, he then wants to put me on DHEA. Now I know this is ideally used to help one get ready for IVF, which I would gladly do, but sadly, my insurance doesn't cover it, and my RE doesn't even offer financing so IVF is not an option for us, at least not with this RE.

So my question is, should I even bother with theses tests and/or the DHEA if I KNOW IVF isn't even an option? I am a just setting myself up for more heartache? Or should I take the risk and try DHEA? Maybe it helps people get pregnant on their own and I am not aware of it?

I am just at a point where I am so unsure. I don't want to become consumed by this, you know? I claim to be a person of faith so maybe I just need to have faith and try naturally and hope.....

Maybe I need to search out an RE who offers financing even though my RE rocks and has great success rates.... should I at least give the DHEA a shot, knowing IVF isn't a viable option?

Sorry, I'm just sad and unsure and alone. Thanks for reading.

I was kind of where you are, I started tests at my OB's office and then they did an US and wanted to do some other tests, But I couldn't afford them and I have no insurance at my job SO needless to say, there was no way I could afford all these specialist, So i'm just going w/ Faith and if it happens it happens. GO w/ your heart, if you feel better knowing you at least tried DHEA then do it. Who knows maybe they'll work w/ you on payments. Whatever makes you feel more at ease! Good LUck and I wish you the best. :hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs:

Thank you so much. I am the kind of person who tends to follow my brain, not always trust my heart, you know? My RE says that I SHOULD get all the tests because there are other things we can try besides IVF, that could help, but we can try them without the test results. And the irony is, my insurance covers ALL testing, just not the treatment. So in a way, I feel like I've got nothing to lose.... except hope. Does that make any sense?

Anyway, thank you for the reply. MUCH appreciated.
