i used to enjoy burning incense and oils around the house, but i am not sure if it would be harmful in any way with a baby around. does anyone know if it is safe or not? would you burn incense around your baby?

I'm pretty laid-back with most things and I love incense but I definitely wouldn't burn it with the baby around. I have a boatload of really good Yankee Candles that I won't even burn anymore because you're not meant to burn paraffin wax around babies, soy candles are fine.

Personally I wouldn't with the baby in the room just in case the baby was affected by it in any way

I wouldn't personally. It may have an effect on LOs lungs or make her sneeze as she is not used to it x

I personally wouldn't. We stopped using candles or anything scented when we got our parrot as their lungs are super sensitive and the fumes can kill them.. if it's not good for a bird, it's not good for us!

I wouldn't as you don't really know what they're inhaling and it might not be good for their lungs.

pure essential oils are fine to be diffused in the air, incense I wouldn't burn in the same room but occationally do in my bedroom xx

To be fair parrots have very different lungs to us so even pure essential oils aren't great for them but for humans it's fine. Incense or scented candles or things with chemicals are probably not so great though.

They do have very different/sensitive lungs but it still can't be healthy for us breathing in the chemicals either. Those essential oil stick diffusers are fine and are def a better alternative :flower:

I've never used them, and while he's sleeping in our room I wouldn't anywhere, because there isn't a room he doesn't go in, but maybe once he's in his own room I'd think about using them in ours. To be honest, I don't really get a chance to relax with some incense burning anyway!

To be on the safe side i wouldn't burn them either.

I never even thought of this, and my OH burns Yankee candles all the time around LO! I will have to put a stop to that!

No. I'm asthmatic and incense (whether from sticks or in church) sets me off. I wouldn't advise it for a baby with sensitive, new lungs.

Plus I also don't like my baby smelling of perfume. I'm a bit fussy that way. :D

I never thought of this and I use yankee candle meltlets :s
